War campaign has been objective and subjectively less fun then the artifact weapon quests.
Good concept but Acti-blizz devs butchered the idea and gated it worse than Broken Shore quest line.

Where exactly is it written in black and white that the raid is part of the war campaign achievement needed to unlock the AR? I’m not seeing this anywhere.

It is strange that they are making the raid part of it.
I dislike pugging but I want the troll paladin so I guess I will suck it up and do it.
Does make the question of whether or not I am unlocking the fat humans a lot easier though.

It’s sure to be an unpopular opinion but I agree with OP. It’s wrong. This is their new thing now though, to take something that super casuals love, which is questing, and gate it behind mythics and raids which they don’t always care much about.

I could understand being upset if there was no LFR, but they literally make the raids so anyone can do them in a que-able pug. Just think of the other players as NPC’s like 99% of other LFR players do, and get it done.

I have not even finished the Jaina quest line because they put it in mythics, now they put the next main story in a raid. Just plain stupid.
Yes i do raid but only on this character , and no I refuse to run any mythic dungeons.
Because of this stupid requirement i will be unable to finish it on any of my alts.

According to this, we already have the achievements required: Zandalari unlock - #17 by Lashrael-goldrinn
So now I’m confused.

Still don’t see where the raid flag for defeating Jaina (Horde side) is required to unlock the Zandalari.
Even what Stompypotato linked doesn’t say its required. Its very likely that come Jan 29th, as the storyline progresses realm-wide, players will have a new quest available called The King’s Death which will involve the arrival of Sylvanas and all the subsequent mess.
Maybe we’re wrong, and the raid is required. But nowhere does it explicitly say so, and making Nth threads about the world ending because someone said its required and everyone else just eats it up as gospel, is pretty much a waste of time.

Agreed. Was reading other pages and the war campaign ends w/ “fly out to meet them” (horde side, not sure what the alliance equivalent is called) which doesn’t appear to be part of the raid.
Every time I think I have it figured out it unravels.

Yeah, I read further and it is even more unclear. It is almost deliberate.
On the allied races page it says complete both 8.0 and 8.1 components of war campaign.
When you open that up it ends w/ the achievement just prior to the raid. So I am guessing the raid isn’t required.
I am sure tomorrow something else will muddy these waters even more.

It is not so much about wait another month or spend another $15.
It is taking something not raid specific and locking up in a raid.
I suppose it could be worse. They could have linked it to a rated BG.
