Just saw that now they are offering RAID ready boosts in the store. This is getting ridiculous…or has been for some time. If you setup every incentive to make it no fun to level/gear up by making money off of boosts you end up degrading the game even if it isn’t on purpose. Incentives dictate actions and this just seems like another way the cash store pushes poor incentives to make the process of playing, leveling and gearing fun.
The gear is 424 ilvl versions of the boosted gear from the past. The only thing it does is really makes it so you can get into LFR faster. Gears crap and just gets peoples foot in the door, doesn’t do much more than that.
It’s “raid” ready sure, but nothing above LFR.
It is 3 ilvls more than normal dungeon gear.
But Rita! They’re selling raid ready boosts! The horror! THE HORROR! /s
“Raid Ready” should be in Austin Powers level air quotes.
It’s LFR ready gear and do world quests without dieing instantly. The average player won’t clear heroic raids with that gear, won’t get invited to heroic raids, won’t get invited to anything but like +2-4 mythics.
Why don’t you admit you’re more upset because you’re a crafter that isn’t selling your lower level crafted gear that people used to buy prior to this being available.
Who said I was upset? I’m not upset at all about that nor do I care about that nor did I mention crafted gear ANYWHERE in my post. You seem to be projecting.
You’re projecting all over the forums. For someone that just said he doesn’t care you’ve come here to do a heck of a lot of whinging.
Your actions don’t match your words
Are you okay bud? We’re addressing this guy thinking the raid ready boost is gonna destroy the gearing process not whatever it is you’re going on about.
But go off I guess. You sure showed me.
What does whinging mean? Like, “winging it” ?
its to basically complain persistantly in an irritating way.
The only op part about the boost is the renown levels. There is literally no catchup to that content outside of the boost.
And 4 ilvls lower than heroic dungeon gear. Run a couple heroics while doing the new ED quest line and you’ll be in the same spot. I really don’t see the issue.
If you mean LFR ready, then yes you’re raid ready.
The very first thing I did last season was buy some enchants and jump right into a normal Abberus. This season,it would not even probly be high wnough to join an LFR. Op cannot be serious, all that boost is gonna do now is make it to where you dont get 1 shot in the Emerald Dream, where you will be gearing. All this boost does is skip leveling and give you some renown.
I’ve read that the boost gear isn’t even on an upgrade track.
The trash mobs in the new zone drop upgradable gear at that ilvl. You can just buy them off the AH.
“Raid ready” boost gear is junk.
I can get a full 15 piece set of 424 gear off the AH for about 200k, which is way more cost effective than buying the boost.
In fact, a fair few people I’ve talked to don’t like the “enhanced” boost at all, especially new or returning players. They actually want to quest and experience the DF storyline as it was intended to be experienced - not everyone wants to rush to raid.
Why they don’t offer a normal boost I really don’t know. Since when does a company actually limit the ways its customers can spend money?
The entire Dragonflight story is still available to be played through after boosting.
I was thinking more along the lines of a level 60 boost. So they can turn up at the Waking Shore and play the game as we did. But sure, I should probably have made that clearer.
