So im new to bm and hunter in general. Iam finding my lack of mobility as MM is hurting my dps or maybe iam just bad at the rotation but never mind that.
My quest is what pets should i used for raiding . pet family , even specific pet. I have enough soul ash that i can make my bm bis leggo so i figured id ask the forums for some help.
Ps i hate the tar flare lego
If your raid somehow doesnt have bloodlust/timewarp then having any feroicty pet will be a huge boost as you can bring the bloodlust. Otherwise I think a cunning pet for the bonus 12% movespeed for you and your pet is best. As BM you can tame an aqiri which has a unique buff that grants itself 30% extra movespeed at all times which makes it the fastest pet. Useful if you are target swapping a lot and your pet has to run to a new enemy.
Tv’s suggestion isn’t bad. I’d add that different raid encounters are different and you might find different pets useful in different circumstances. If it’s a fight where a little bit of speed boost might make the difference between you avoiding an effect or not, or you might need Master’s Call, then Tv is right. Other times, the damage is hard to avoid no matter what. If it’s low to moderate consistent damage, then Ferocity’s leech can be a big help. If it’s sudden bursty damage then Tenacity (usually Spirit Beast with its HoT) is good.
Other pet abilities may be useful occasionally. I recommend you learn all the abilities here:

For just general quality-of-life getting around the world, I always have a Feathermane (for Updraft) and a Water Strider (for Surface Trot) available. Those get less important once you have flying, but they’re great now.
I have used a spirit beast or a cat stealthed with Eyes of the Beast for scouting once or twice, but it’s not extremely important.
I tried really, REALLY hard to like Feathermanes, but Updraft is the same as a Mage Slow Fall or Priest Levitate.
I’d much rather carry a stack of Goblin Glider Kits if I’m planning to jump off something big and want a slow fall, and if I unexpectedly fall a long ways, I’ll just Disengage before I hit the ground.
Water Strider is amazing (though not as useful in SL zones as it was in BfA/Legion), but it’s exotic so I can’t use it.
I find myself running with a Wolf (Ferocity/Snare) most of the time, with a Scalehide (Ferocity/Active Defense) for big elites, a Hyena (Cunning/Mortal Wounds) for PvP, a Clefthoof if I need to swap to BM to solo something that MM can’t reasonably do, and I keep one slot open in case there is something I want to tame. I don’t run Tenacity pets, as MM gets Survival of the Fittest with Lone Wolf if I need the extra DR cooldown, and I don’t run BM or MM with a pet in content where that would matter.
Since Spirit Mend got nerfed hard, there currently isn’t any specific pet that has an ability that’s especially useful for raiding. You really can go with whatever you like. I would probably use a Tenacity pet for the extra health and Survival of the Fittest, but Cunning for movement speed + freedom or Ferocity for leech + lust aren’t bad. None of those abilities are really gamechangers. You should try them all out and check which one you prefer.
