I’ve tried studying rotations and things like that and improved IMMENSELY since doing that but for some reason I still can’t reach average ilvl parse so I’m not quite sure what I’m doing wrong.
I’m looking at your overall over all killed bosses right now and I’m wondering what’s going on. 22k on Wrathion and 26k on Maut as your best pull looks fishy. For context, I’m less geared than you are and I’m pulling over 40 on Wrathion.
Are you using a potion before and during each pull? Are you lining your cooldowns into Bloodlust? Do you have your BiS traits and essences? I’m also thinking that your roation needs work. I think you’re just missing a lot of fundamentals tbh. Usually a low bracket parse comes from either an unprepared character or an unprepared player.
I had a tier of Cutting Edge and have participated in half a dozen mythic tiers and have nothing to do with the servers down. If you want to ask questions, feel free. I dont know ele very well specifically, but I can answer general questions.
Also you say you are top 3 dps on your raid, 2 things:
1- Being top dps doesnt mean a lot when diff fights benefit different specs.
2- You are top 3 dps on your raid … with 13+ ilvl difference over everyone else except the rogue, i wouldnt bring this up if i were you xd

use the compare feature of warcraftlogs, search for a good ele log with similar fight duration and compare number of casts, timing of cds, this is the first step to optimize dps, looking up better players instead of going in blindly.
Could be anything tbh.

How about helping instead of saying “hah I wouldn’t bring about THAT!”
And i think its kinda obvious but dont compare wipe logs with kills, search for, idk, a shadar log since that fight is a meme st fight, and compare casts, cd usage and rotation, then up from here optimize each fight individually.
Could be a few things friend, have you tried using wowanalyzer? It’s a website that allows you to input a parse and it provides details on how you played like if you had things on cd, if you overcapped resources, if you had time not casting etc.
You can’t take it whole heartedly because it doesn’t really account for encounter mechanics, but compared to a similar player you could see who you are performing
That run was last Tuesday before I respecced and practiced better rotation. Better being the key word, not good rotation. But I do believe I would do better on those early bosses now compared to then, just don’t have the stats to prove that. But either way, there’s a lot I need to work on, I’m just not sure how.
I’ve been potting, runing, and eating now but I wasn’t before. I have a hard time with the lust cause I just lust when told and am never really aware of when that’s gonna be cause this is such a new progression for us. So that definitely could be better if you have any tips.

Shad’har is a particularly bad fight for casters to be honest. However I do agree that the lack of mechanics, particluarly targetted ones alongside the single target nature would make it a decent fight to compare on.
Cool. It looks like we have very different talents. Should I look into speccing more towards something like that? He’s got storm elemental, aftershock, and primal elementalist specced.

His overall best scores for Heroic runs are all grays, around 11%.
Even on Normal it’s 17%.
I don’t want to sound mean but he’s getting carried hard.
Please read the whole thread. I’ve already explained that those are all old logs, and the heroic one was a carry. I linked a log from tonight which is what we are talking about now. I’m just asking for help to get better now, the original question has been answered.
yes and no. Because the dmg profile on the whole group is also significantly low. Not just him
The log you linked is useless since its all wipes, doesnt help at all, and that log that i linked is from april 13th, pretty rare perception of old, improve your single target to an acceptable lvl then you can optimize fights like carapace that need diff timing on some cds.
I wasn’t looking at the log he linked, I was just looking at the average from the top page. Looking at wipes for parses is not useful data.
For example, an Wrathion run has people in their 87% (66% ilv) and 79%
His heroic runs were done by a carry group, I’m ignoring them. I also don’t really care if the guy is a noob, I’ve got literally nothing to do and its better to teach than flame.

Yea I’m also looking at his overall logs not just the ones he linked. There are some good player in the run. But alot of them are doing subpar dps
