This is true and its what lures m+ player to the raids.
Its a repugnant game design from blizzard’s part.
Despite that, yes, raid loot amount probably should be buffed significantly.
At least 6 loot for 20 man. But going by m+ it should be 8.
However once raid loot gets corrected, blizzard also should have a good look at m+ gearing when it comes to mythic track items.
It is ridiculous that you cannot get mythic track items outside of the vault at all AND nothing guarantees that vault wont drop crap every single week.
Like each dungeon on +12, should have a similar chance to mythic raid bosses to drop a mythic track items on the first competition of the week. This means 8 chances a week since nowadays a season cannot have more than 8 dungeons for some reason.
You can craft them. Raid loot really gets fixed with the dinars because most of us want the trinkets from there.
But dinars aren’t coming til 11.1.5 so all we can do for now is pray to RNG. The whole gearing process is supposed to take months. That’s why they don’t increase raid loot or why they put crest caps or mythic gear only in vault for mythic+
And, for at least 2 slots, gilded crest crafted will be better than a myth track item.
Not just as good as, I mean actually better.
Because of this, the key level should be approximately about as difficult as the boss you have to kill to unlock a full set of raid gear, which (depending on armor type, is either One-Armed Bandit or Mug’Zee).
But what about the ppl who keep complaining they must do m+, because raids don’t give enough gear.
It is objectively true, that raids give almost nothing compared to m+ when it comes to the amount of the loot and not the quality of the loot.
4 man out of the 20 is just mean imo.
6 would be a lot better.
And thats exactly whats not working.
Most of the ppl I ever played with, quits during the x.y.5 patch and does not wait x.y.7, because the content becomes stale regardless if you achieved your goals or not.
This is something alts just cant solve and slow gearing probably just makes worse (it makes alting in a serious manner less likely).
Wow should return to 4 month seasons, because 6 months are just far too much.
12 came naturally as its the last difficulty where the key becomes significantly harder due to the lost buffs and the peril affix.
The loot you get would come from the dungeons, not the raid, so its quality would still not match what mythic gives due to blizzard’s ill fated itemization tendencies when it comes to raid loot.
HC and mythic usually intersects (HC last few with mythic first few) in difficulty.
The first few bosses are usually puggable, last season I certainly remember the first 4 being pugged by many.
This season the first 3 looks similar.
Maybe the first 4 should be +12 and then increase by one or 0.5 until 8.
By the last 2-3 month of the season, technically everyone who wants, can flaunt themselves in full 678 gear, since even a depleted m10 will give mythic track vault and m10 is already pretty easily completable, just like it always was before TWW S1.
So the question is more about allowing ppl to fine tune their gear during the x.y.0 patch, than about giving mythic track or not.
Since a single depleted +10 per week is enough to give you a full armor set of myth gear in vault, wheras to unlock a full set of myth gear in the raid vault requires One-Armed Bandit, the level where M+ can drop myth gear should be tuned to One-Armed Bandit difficulty.
Anyone who has done CE level content or really just engaged with Mythic outside of the first boss understands that most players aren’t farming Mythic outside of 3 bosses this tier with a very limited loot table of gear. And quite a few of the items are clear bad picks due to being early raid gear. People who don’t engage in Mythic don’t seem to understand that a raiding guild will beat whatever the wall boss is and start extending which means not only will they not be getting loot on earlier bosses anymore. They also may go weeks without loot dropping for anyone depending on the difficulty of the boss. And even when the boss does die, it is 5 items with the potential for duplicates and they can all possibly be bad items. The raid group will never clear this boss again unless they choose to reclear.
I’d actually support a token system for every progression boss, meaning everyone gets 1 token that grants them guaranteed access to an item of their choice on that boss’s loot table given this disparity, though that may be a controversial take.
That is actually deranged. I didn’t even notice that, in this expansion I have honestly ended up just pressing “upgrade” or “BIS” on the few items that come up I can use and letting loot council figure out the logistics because loot council is the only way to make this cursed system work. 4 items is hysterically bad. Blizzard has to know that people don’t like doing splits right? Even RWF players note that. Why make the loot pool so low that they become so beneficial to do…
I am the main character. I expect World of Warcraft to treat me as a first-class citizen.
I play Season of Discovery because I am treated as a first-class citizen in terms of content and rewards.
I do not play Retail because instead of Ion coming to me and giving me what I want and designing the game around me, like Aggrend has, he expects me to give into his weird digital terrorism / psychological warfare. No. Just no.
Ion needs to acknowledge that many of us only ever want to engage Mythic as optional side content while the main game is M+ / PvP, and design the reward systems and dev effort accordingly.
I hate wasting time on the weekly for a free heroic piece and getting a slot item thats the same track reward…
I got a chest I didnt need at all. I just want a frikin trinket, neck or rings or literally any champion slot. But nooooo loot rewards are not smart just crap rng.
Also worth noting that the notable items, like the weapons this time around, are just outclassed by crafting one with Gilded Crests instead, since the VAST majority of people will never touch those bosses on Mythic Difficulty.
Depends on the season if they’re OP enough to be wanted at lower tracks or not, but that doesn’t seem to be the case this time.
I dont know about a near dinar equivalent per boss. But I do agree that the typical ce guilds that spend the whole season progging should have some achievement based gear rewards. The groups who can actually farm mythic vault are a tiny fraction, and even lower hof are probably only there because they raid 5 days a week.
Yea it’s just an idea. Maybe one per raid wing would be ideal. Say you clear Stix->Sprocket-> One-armed that would be a token for example or something like that.
The thing about raid is that farming is kind of pointless unless it’s for progression purposes. Let’s say for example you are an AOTC only raider, once Gallywix is dead your progression is done for the tier, what do you need the gear for? Raid will get easier each week whether or not you gear more. In mythic for many guilds same principle applies unless they want mounts. Could reclear CE for people that don’t have it/need mounts but doing it for gear reasons is kind of pointless as your spending so much effort for like what is probably a very miniscule upgrade.
