Of course, always grain of salt. Blah blah. Just an idea etc.
But I know that in my own case, I was pure garbage. I’m usually top 3-5 in dps in my guild’s raid. Last night I was under the people are that less than average at their class. I’m not claiming to be an amazing player, I’m maybe average or very barely slightly above, but I’m not usually THAT bad. I was getting Nathria week 1 vibes all over again, which is the last time I felt like I should step out of a raid…
I’ve played with some builds. FelHammer recommends momentum, and really, it IS the best build, but it’s the best build when you don’t suck at it, and I don’t feel “safe” trying to use that in raid (or m+ for that matter, but I digress). Wowhead’s “no movement” build didn’t produce better results. I knew it would be less, but I figured the trade off of the balance of that or sucking at momentum would balance out. It did not.
So I’m kind of here having to suck up Momentum and learn to suck less at it (despite how much I hate it and that it feels weird to me), or consider changing main for the first time since coming back to WoW in BFA.
It’s not helped by the fact that most this raid is single target fights, and that isn’t where DH shine, but just… oof.
I’ve been running sims every which way and I’m just kinda depressed.

You would be better spending your time learning how to actually use essence break tbh
Haven’t played my DH much since 10.0.7 (Yay ret) but I pugged my way through 8/9 heroic this week and played with more than a few DH’s pulling serious damage, in the mid 90k range ST with the highest in groups ST being around 100k. So with the coming buffs we should be in a good spot.
