Question on lockout and extension mechanics.
Suppose we clear 3 bosses in SOFO up to Holandrus with my character “B”, and then I leave the raid with character ‘B’, change to character “A” and kill several more bosses.
The following week, Character ‘B’ can choose to extend it’s raid lockout and have a raid that starts at Holandrus, yes?
Suppose then that Character “B” forms the raid group, enters the raid with team, 3 bosses dead already. Can Character “B” then promote someone else to raid lead and leave the instance? And if so, can that Character “B” then do the same thing again next week?
Yea, so that’s how it used to work… my raid groups have been using lockout extension to skip bosses since like Siege of Orgrimmar. We’re a small casual guild and so sometimes clearing the whole dungeon takes too long in a week and we want to skip ahead past bosses we have well on farm and don’t need the gear from.
However, last night we tried this and it didn’t work as expected. On Tuesday we skipped the first three bosses using a saved lockout and then cleared up to Anduin. However, when we went in last night to continue, all the bosses (and their trash) were alive, we just weren’t eligible for loot on them.
I’m wondering if Blizzard changed something
Was this with a Heroic or Mythic lockout? Cause we just used a Normal Lockout to head straight to Jailer, but we only used it for one boss because Normal / Heroic lockouts don’t lockout the previous bosses like Mythic does
