My friend has a lockout for the last 4 bosses of normal ny’alotha. My lockout only has the first 4 bosses done. Am I able to receive their lockout from them and use it myself?
The reason is that I’m not always able to regularly raid with my friend and the guild. They intend to reset the raid and do it all over again. However I’d like to have a lockout access to these last 4 bosses so that we can all finish the raid when we are all able to play together. Is it possible to grab the lockout or do i have to extend my own and just do it that way?
Non Mythic lockouts are boss by boss basis and can be mixed throughout your raid. Mythic lockouts are a specific lockout that cannot be crossed with other lockouts.
in your example you are eligible for loot from bosses you have not killed. The raid leaders lock out is used for which bosses are alive in the instance.
For instance raid leader has killed 2 bosses. A raid member has killed 4 bosses. The raid will not have the first 2 bosses spawned. The raid member will see the 2 other bosses he has killed, however they are not eligible for loot.

So yes or no. Does that mean I can’t take the lockout from my friend and instead will have to extend my own?
You have your own personal lockout that is on a per boss basis. If you extend your lockout you will not get loot for the first 4 bosses if you are in a raid. However if you are the raid leader and extend your lockout the first 4 bosses will not spawn.
So the only way for you to get a lockout with only the last 4 alive, is to kill all but the last 4 and extend that lockout.
