It’s wild that no one runs dungeons, yet folks show up in raids with a gear score less than 700. I can see a guild carry, but folks showing up to LFG naxx raids with majority greens, and no dungeon blues is crazy to me.
They got booted from the raid when they get equipment checked and then have a hissy fit.
GS in sod is meaningless. Get ur 3pc from invasions and then some t2/AQ gear and head to naxx. Takes 1-2 weeks to be naxx ready as a fresh 60.
“Gatekeeping” is a buzz word that people like to throw around is why.
Toxic “Gearscore” apps are way for sweats to “Gatekeep”
While I agree you must be properly geared to enter some raids, too many people want to exclude you from higher content.
Blizzards has spent many years trying to find ways so that ALL players can experience ALL content. While a small portion of the player base is trying to exclude as many people as possible.
Gearscore apps should be banned from the game, they are toxic and promote toxic elitism.
People that use the words gear score and item level in any context of Season of Discovery are actually clueless.
Having a gear score addon in sod is just very silly. I only really see green/blue parse players ever mention GS as a req for a group tbh.
They are stuck in WOTLK and it’s warped their brain. Not even in retail do people concern this much over ilvl. At least they go by proper metrics like raid achievements and IO.

Fresh dont need 2 weeks, do invasions and kara for 2-3 days= you re 8/8 sanctified.

You will need at least a week. You should not be going into kara without full reel epics imo… Guild carry is one thing, but if you are not bothering folks for a carry you will probably be a detriment…
That being said, I am judging it from my warrior pov, and we are not super strong in fives compared to other classes… I healed once on my priest, he has dungeon blues and reel gear and it was a challenge, but we cleared. The priest run was with guildies on discord though…
Normal player reach lvl 60 with blue gear, gold and a decent amount of Reals + MC half hour run + ZG half hour run, what about all the crafted gear in AH?..epics are there ppl are just lazy.
invest in a guild.
run your own group.
alternatively you can put in the work to get the gear even if it might be a longer trek and get in legit.
It’s a shame that folks rush everything, we had a bunch of folks level alts and form a sh!tter dungeon crew at sixty, just geared up organically… Was a ton of fun…
