I disagree. Personal loot was nice for enchanters as well as for LFR queue times. It meant guaranteed loot per run. Even if outgeared the instance, I would still run it and previous tiers for enchanting mats.
On non-enchanters I would sometimes give the gear to another player especially if it was an upgrade for them.
Even on my enchanter I’d rather pay 200g for a crystal on the AH than the time it would take to run 3-4 wings of LFR. I could easily make more than the cost of the crystal in that time doing something else.
Bandwagon. This system just forces you to roll need because it makes you perceive if you don’t someone else is going to and not actually need it and then you just wasted an hour of your life for nothing when you could of had a chance at something. No one wants to walk away from anything empty handed especially when given a choice.
Yeah! just now it instead rolls across the ENTIRE loot table a few times and likely doesn’t even roll the item you wanted anyways, then if it did, it makes you roll against anyone and everyone anyways and you probably don’t get it anyways
Non Personal loot blows for non controlled raid environments, i don’t care if it gives “More loot” it just feels awful
Personal loot in LFR was one of the places it was actually appropriate. I can’t believe they left M+ as personal but made LFR group loot. Just stupid.
The whole reason I’m not bothering with it on my alts right now is it is far more trouble than it is worth. I’m not even going to bother next week on my main. I’m sure I’m not the only one, which means it will be that much worse and full of terrible players who can’t kill the second boss.
It is still better than winning nothing and rolling against a crud load of people. Even if you roll 100 you might not win if somebody ties you. They need to make LFR personal loot only.
I know one thing, i stopped doing LFR after it changed to GL, because i went from at least semi frequently getting stuff to never getting it. I no longer bother queueing for it really after several completely dry weeks under GL.
I would rather only win something every 2 weeks if it was something that I would actually use as an upgrade than to be handed a piece of loot every week that is likely not one of the pieces I need that I would just DE or vendor.
I’ll take less but more meaningful/impactful loot over more but likely useless loot.
You assume it has to be this way and that is false. There are a number of loot options, but the default and mandatory non guild raid was personal. I suppose you just never noticed because of those defaults and restrictions.
