For some reason I cannot find the raid EXP penalty, I know leveling in a raid is silly, but just for numbers reasons I’m wondering what it was.
Let’s say my guild is leveling in 5-mans or just 5-man groups, if a bunch of us cross paths in a zone, I’m wondering if having 7, 10, or even if the planets align and 40 of us are there, is there any point at all in forming a raid and demolishing everything in sight?
Thanks!
Um, the penalty would be that you literally cannot complete quests while in a raid group, right? So no, I’d say there’s no point at all in forming a raid and demolishing everything in sight, because you wouldn’t be progressing the quests that put you there in the first place.

You cannot accomplish quest goals while in a raid group. I.E. If you need to gather those Zhevra hooves, they will NEVER drop while you are in a raid group.
I want to say the penalty was 50%
So if you are in a raid of 40 and kill one mob that gives 400 xp baseline, divide by 40 and then half it.
Each player gets 5 xp.

*the following is after very limited testing. The formulae here are best guess.
Assuming everyone in the group is the same level
XP = MXP/numberOfMembers * modifier.
Modifiers:
1 person group = 1.0 2 person group = 1.0 3 person group = 1.166 4 person group = 1.3 5 person group = 1.4
Example:
1 person = 100xp 2 people = 50xp each. 3 people = ~39xp each. 4 people = ~33xp each. 5 people = ~28xp each.*
If that helps, i myself don’t remember how much it is but it’s huge more then 50%. You can also only complete raid quest while in a raid group, though it’s still fun as hell to raid deadmines at 10 or 15 haha.

Not sure why it slipped my mind about not doing quests =/
We all want to basically follow the same leveling path, but not compete too much for mobs. Crunching the numbers was what I wanted to do, but yupppp, not completing quests 100% slipped my mind. Ugh.
Thanks, everyone!
I remember getting like 5 exp before, so the shared exp and etc is bad.
You get xp from kills even if you can’t complete quests.
You do. It is very little but you do.
