I have had no luck finding a guide for when to use raid cooldowns for holy priest on the Vault bosses. I’ve watched videos, checked weakauras, checked online guides, but none of them really covered holy priest-specific raid cooldowns.
Would anyone be willing to share some advice on when (boss mechanic) to use Divine Hymn and HW: Salvation on each boss? I would really appreciate it!
Well, I mean generally you should be using em when you’re assigned to do it.
But if you don’t have healing CDs assigned, and seeing as you’re doing normal/heroic:
General Rule for HPS
Try to get a salv on an early raid-wide mechanic so that you can reset the salv and use it a second time in the fight.
Eranog
If you’re looking specifically for HPS and don’t care about sniping, you can Salv the first incinerating roar (this will give you another salv later).
The only time major CDs are ever really needed is when roar goes off before phase 2 elementals. If you haven’t salved, use it there. Otherwise hymn.
Terros
Use on Pillar breaks when your tanks fire the line at the pillars.
Primal Council
Use EITHER on meteor axe soaks, or use if your raid messes up conductive mark a lot and spreads it.
Sennarth
There’s not a SUPER clear spot to use this, but generally the whole raid will be taking damage during chilling blast when you have to spread, so having a CD running can’t hurt.
Dathea
Up on the platforms or during the vortex. Generally your raid will probably want it while you’re up on the platforms. Even though it only hits half the raid, the healing check up there can get intense if your raid is slow to kill the adds.
Kurog
Not an amazing place to always time your CDs in normal or heroic TBH. Damage is pretty constant in this fight and how we’ve handled it is just set up a CD rotation and called for a healer CD when we need it rather than specifically timing anything. In heroic if there was no assignment or callouts, I’d probably use it whenever a mechanic that hits the whole raid goes out, especially if you’re about to swap to a new element.
Broodkeeper
Egg breaks are the most dangerous thing here, and generally should always use a CD if breaking 3 eggs. In normal you never have to do that, so still just use it on egg breaks or if an add spawns and starts casting.
Raszageth
Phase 1: Use on the bombs.
Phase 2: There’s no great time to use it in add phase.
Phase 3: Use on the Left/Right stack.
Phase 4: Use on bombs.
