In the recent change made to ret aura, with the justification behind it being raid comp strain, only to add a raid buff to shamans. We simply need to prune raid buffs again to where it was in BFA.
Currently there are 9 raid buffs, and that excludes the unique toolkits that classes bring to encounters that can simplify them. Which means essentially you have 13 slots auto locked down in mythic raiding due to all the raid buffs and toolkits that are available.
If blizzard really wants to reduce strain, then they need to reign in toolkits and raid buffs to a smaller amount.
EDIT:
Echoing Brewas’ ideas here but they did make a good point of it could also work like instead of a single spec having access to a unique ability. It could be shared between the class, or even in some cases classes, like aura mastery for isntance. That could be shared between all paladin specs, instead of hard locking it to holy paladin which in turn means that holy paladin has a hard locked spot in raid comps. So that other specs can see more play, over it just being the case of what we have now of you bring 1 of every single class in a specific spec due to unique toolkits and buffs. Which can also be stacked and leads to further raid constraints.

No. There are two correct paths:
- Remove all buffs/debuffs
- Have all buffs/debuffs be repeated on at least 3 classes/specs, like how it was in Wrath
Either will work.
That would be fine to me, I just think the current format though is horrible and needs some serious attention, with either a reduction, removal, or spreading of abelites, like making aura master available to all paladin specs.
Of course it’s horrible. But BfA wasn’t much better.
Raise raid size to 25 man?
20 man was back when we had 2 less classes.

I honestly like the idea that it should be optimal to bring at least 1 of every class to every boss in a mythic raid.
I do not think that raid buffs forcing 2 of any class is a good idea, nor is spec-specific raid buffs.

I want war scrolls back, so you can bring whatever comp. Also to give inscription some point
Maybe give engineers lock gates and portals as well, and alchemists brez like a bring back to life potion. Then enchanters lust
Group utility could be what makes professions matter again, in world of warCRAFT!
Why not just remove all raid buffs and just tune all classes appropriately…
Echoing what someone said before on here since it makes sense and encourages all classes to be in a raid
1% vers or something per unique class in the raid.
Right now as it is even classes without a raid buff would likely get excluded.
Unless one is paladin that gives off heals, buffs etc they could probably get into a group even if they didn’t even have a raid buff at least compared to dk.
