i believe these services go against the spirit of the game and retail , basically makes the game pay to win , these people have huge discord servers selling raids daily for cash.
whats the point of raiding now ? if i can just buy fully geared runs and be done with progression or learning the fights ? feels like wow is turning more and more into a cash grab and blizzard is doing nothing about it . Banning multiboxers was a good solid first step to help out economy , next should be raid boosting for cash and gold.
I don’t care if guilds boost people for in-game gold. But I also think it’s hilarious that those same people say that casuals should have no path to getting decent gear on their own. Unless it’s … paying guilds gold for decent gear? Hmm…
But then who would get me my sole carry for a mount that’s about to go away? D:
i think it goes against the spirit of the game , its becoming a pay 2 win killing the purpose of playing in retail .
These huge discord communities make tons of cash by doing this because lets face it not everyone has 500 k for a nzoth run , just out of curiosity i asked for price and these people said " its okay bro if you dont got the gold we accept paypal just join our discord"
Boosting for cash is already bannable, I don’t know why boosting for gold would be though.
Boosting with cash is bannable and shouldn’t be done. Buying boosts with gold is totally valid and acceptable imo.
If someone is advertising sales for cash, report them because that is bannable. For gold? You’re just going to have to get over it.
I agree it’s bad practice for the game but at the end of the day I could care less. A person that payed to be carried for a kill is more then likely a crap player anyway and no amount of extra gear is going to make their performance good enough to effect me in any way.
I hope you reported that player.
Carries has been here since the first day on WoW. I don’t know what people complains about as in big server this has been like this since forever.
It does when it comes to high keystones when said player comes in with a boosted score and gear and then wastes everybodies time.
For cash? Absolutely. And it is bannable. That’s called RMT, and RMT is completely against the ToS.
For gold? Absolutely not. If I’m good enough to be carrying someone through the content, I deserve the money that someone may be willing to offer.
It sucks, but boosting is what drives the token market. Blizz isn’t going to do anything to mess with that cash cow.
Off topic, but they made a sequel series where your kids are the protagonists.
How can it go against the spirit of the game when carries for gold have been in the game from the start?
I seriously doubt they could stop this even if they wanted to. They would have to stop groups giving ‘free’ carries in order to do so.
The people who usually say that are wannabe Heroic raiders; the guys who’re stuck on Normal and can’t push further.
Retail is not suppose to be pay to win in any way , its one of the things that make this game great . Gold boosting has being in the game for quite some time but doesnt make it any better , i mean if you can just buy mythic tier gear whats the purpose of playing at all ? . Gold boosting dodges the gear wall and it messes with high level content keys+ etc.
the argument of its being done since the beginning doesnt mean its a healthy practice for the player base i could point out several things in modern history that did change even tho they were practice for several decades .
You aren’t paying for 95th-percentile parses, Hall of Fame, or 5k IO though.
And it takes extremely good players to essentially 19-man an end-of-tier boss on Mythic or 4-man a +15. Therefore, they absolutely deserve some sort of compensation.
I guess you missed the part that the game has always had carries for gold.
And I am not getting into the silly argument anything is paying to win because there is nothing people can buy that is considered ‘winning’.
My kid says it’s terrible.
We watched the original together years ago.
