Hello I did some of the raid today and the fights were so simple that all I did was avoid “bad ground” areas and healed and we finished the bosses easy one shots.
The issue isn’t that we beat the bosses in one try but the issue is that these bosses didn’t even really have any mechanics.
Did blizzard reduce the difficulty of the raid for 10.1? I remember shadowlands final raid was much harder and so was 10.0 dragonflight raid Vault of the Incarnates.
Did people complain or something? Did blizzard reduce the difficulty in mythic and heroic as well because there’s a small minority of players who complained that mythic was too hard (which is actually the only reason mythic exists, to be hard)
You should specify on which difficulty you did those fights for context. Also, difficulty is subjective to some level, there’s 13 classes and X amount of specs, therefore; you’ve a lot of combinations besides that We’ve flex for Normal/Heroic and Mythic is only limit to groups of 20 man.
Personally, it feels easier compared to previous raids but there’s also a lot of nerfs on previous raids in the weeks after release, maybe this time Devs nailed the first iteration and there’s not going to be a lot of nerfs.
Blizzard made raid easier after people whined raids were too hard.

Yes, there have been a lot of complaints over the last 3 expansions that Blizzard was adding to much mechanical bloat to bosses, making them unnecessarily tedious and often requiring addons to effectively do on higher difficulties.
This raid appears to be step down in difficulty, but will see over the next few months.
SotFO was probably the hardest raid of all time so virtually any raid is a step down from it.
Maybe they were trying to better align keys and raid difficulty relative to their rewards this season/tier?
Who knows.
I’m gunna blow your mind right here, ready?
Last raid tier is usually hard because they know it’s the last raid so they pump the difficulty so it’s more of a show
First raid is hard because you’re way undergeared doing it
Middle? Well most people are super overgeard for it so they just blow normal up and some of heroic

I also wonder if the raid is tuned around the idea that it shouldn’t need to be nerfed later.

Yeah that’s basically it. My guild blew up the first 8 bosses of normal because we were mostly all overgearing it from previous season’s heroic and m+ gear.
I feel like the new raid is pretty darn great! Mind you my progress is 1/9 Heroic, 8/9 Normal, and 3/9 LFR but the mechanics seem well done and not so over the top that you need to study like crazy to figure out what you are doing.
In fact many of the fights are a ton of fun for their easy to understand mechanics.
Amalgamation is one of my favorites as it harkens back to the four horsemen with swapping targets at certain debuff stacks and then when they merge I love how both bosses abilities combine in pretty cool ways.
The door boss, who’s name I forget, is also unique and interesting.
The game does not need overly complex and obscure mechanics to feel fun. Not to mention that Heroic adds on new tricks to each fight and Mythic the same.
Id be interested in seeing TC’s main and what they have experienced so far but alas they are posting on a level 13.

Shockingly when you do the raid on the easiest difficulty it is easy, also you might be surprised water is wet and the sun is hot.

Raid difficulty for this raid is fine.
Congratulations. Time for you to graduate to the next difficulty.
There’s been a substantial drop off in raid participation since the start of BfA.
At least some, if not a lot of that, is due to them getting increasingly complicated.
You can gate keep all you want, but you can’t keep the people on the other side of the fence subbed forever. Game difficulty is a balance and lately they’ve been adding and adding and adding to one side of it.
We’re a bit stronger going into the raid on average than we were in 10.0. Majority of people raiding will be going in with t29 sets which makes a good difference in the output of the players.
