Raid Adjustments Discussion

In 2.1, when Black Temple was released.

Release black temple now then.

Do you think they’ll have an easier time with harder content?

they’ll cry for nerfs in the newer content too

Imagine content that not everyone is supposed to complete, like every video game in existence?

Do you know what happens to “every video game”? People will quit at some point, and the game fades. I want guilds to live, so that we can enjoy the later phases.

Honestly, there should be a thread where logs are posted and people provide feedback on correctable things. This would be better than 90% of the trash threads three with low tier trolling

The forums can’t do anything to correct the roster boss and morale boss. Can’t shed dead weight when you struggle to just get enough warm bodies.

To do that a jolt is needed–The things that Fasc proposed, like nerfing trash/moving gy closer/let us go straight to Vashj/KT–would all help immensely. Something discrete like this–Blizz announcing some of those changes–would signal to people that there is hope and then maybe they’ll be motivated to log back on.

And why should they cater to people who are going to quit the game if it’s too difficult? Shouldn’t they focus on the people who enjoy the game now, and will continue to enjoy it in the future?

Keep in mind, 8/10 guilds are in the strong minority.

Then there should be no problem right? The people who want the super hard content have already done it.

The intention isn’t, and never should be, to have every guild clear current content. Some of us enjoy the current difficulty.

Not in the US, there are more guilds at 8/10 then there are at 10/10, and 62% of guilds are at or below 8/10.

3k are 10/10, 2.6k are 8/10. Globally it’s a huge minority.

I am pro nerf sooner rather than later.

My guild is 8/10 but we came very close a few times on vashj. After over 40 wipes, my guild is starting to fall apart and my guild is not the only one. Being so close to the kill but not quite getting her down has killed moral significantly and people have stopped showing up for progression night on our 3rd raid day.

Despite my guilds problems, the bigger reason why I am pro nerf, especially for vashj is because it’s just too RNG based and causes a lot of wipes. For example, you get rooted and poison bomb drops on you, or you get MC’ed and it drops while you are in poison and kills you. Or you get hit by an MC’ed player and poison drops on you and you die. I just think it’s bad design in general.

Despite not downing KT, the only boss I feel strongly about nerfing is vashj due to the poor design with the RNG causing wipes.

Hmm, have you thought about reducing the RNG of the fight? Bring netherweave nets for the striders so you can go into P3 without adds up. Bring living action potions for the root just in case you get poison dropped on you right after. Have paladins with freedom ready for your melee. Have a tank taunt the MC’s and pull them out of poison. Have a healthstone/health pot/nature absorb pot ready in case you come out of MC in poison. Have ranged spread to avoid dropping poison on multiple people. Rotate hero/lust’s into your hunter and warlock groups for maximum dps in P3. I know this all seems tedious and not many people like to play the game this way, but if you want a kill then you have to put in the effort.

I agree with you that the fight can seem a bit RNG-heavy at first, but once you take every precaution to reduce any randomness it starts to feel pretty reasonable. Of course even my group which has 7 kills on her will wipe occasionally to some random event, but we’ve also 1-shot her a couple times so I don’t think the fight is inherently too RNG as long as you’re not letting the mechanics dictate the fight.

Can we get an update if this is happening? Would like to make more money in gdkps with easier bosses

We have been using nets and lashers and health stones and all these other things except maybe using living action potions. Thats the only one on your list I think we may not have tried? I will ask about this. However, at this point, I don’t think it will matter because we can’t even fill a raid on farm night anymore and our comp is way less than ideal now because we can’t be picky with who we bring. We got talented players but there is just no way vashj or KT will die for us at this point. We were already benching people unfairly to have the perfect comp before the roster boss started becoming an issue. Now we are filling our raids with whatever we can get and sometimes down 2-3 people. We are lucky we can still clear 8/10 at this point.

  1. living action potion / pvp trinket / nightmare seeds
  2. tanks taunt mc’s out of poison
  3. taunt mc’s / unequip weapon before mc.

Give free gold, free gear and free bosts to level 70, as per your arguments.
WAIT. There is PTR open already for that.

Yeah those are the numbers for US and EU, clearly not a huge minority. China should not even be a factor into what nerfs are applied, which is where most of the 10/10 guilds are. Exploiting, cheating and RMT boosting is rampart over there, the game is not even run by Blizzard it’s run by NetEase.

Every week there’s going to be more guilds that are 10/10, and less reasons to nerf it. I would understand if it were 10 or 20% of the pop clearing, but we’re past half. 50% is not overtuned content.

Yes, and those methods get patched on both servers.

Still not allowed on either servers.

Also happens in NA. People are clearing SSC and TK for GDKPs on NA servers.

Yep it’s patched, nothing wrong with this kill here that happened today. I don’t even know what you are arguing anymore, it’s a completely different game over there should just base your arguments around US/EU clears which you seem to be doing now. P3 pathing abuse in the link is what I’m referring to, probably done with the Kibler’s Bits bug.

And just for my take on the nerfs, Vashj nerf isn’t big a lot of guilds will still struggle with it. Giving guilds that have been stuck 8/10 for over a month an easier KT kill isn’t the end of the world. It’s better for them to get a little help to get over the 8/10 hurdle and keep playing then for them to get behind on recruitment and quit the game. A nerf mid tier is normal especially if the the difficulty curve is skewed, though I think the nerfs should come a little later in the tier.
