Raid Adjustments Discussion

Surprised you guys are opting to nerf bosses over trash HP or something.

I think its a good time for nerfs to go live.

Nerfing content during its content cycle goes against what was said when you announced TBC-C

I’m curious to understand the reasoning behind nerfing content mid phase opposed to when the next phase begins? Are you worried about a dwindling player base? Are you concerned about how the current attunement system will delay progression for guilds unable to defeat Vashj/Kael now? I’m also curious as to why you would announce such a big change moments before its planned implementation, that seemed the most egregious thing in all of this.

I can only speculate as to why you would want to push this change out during the current phase but I imagine some of the questions above are part of the motivation. Personally, I believe the game has changed to appease too many audiences. I get that the player base may dwindle if the game has too narrow a focus but with all due respect, that was the design choice you made for retail. Retail has a plethora of different content for different audiences. It was for that reason many of us stopped playing Retail, we didn’t like that design choice but I can at least understand why it went that way.

Now you have rebooted the game as it was back the way the core audience that left Retail want it to be. Now you seem to be making decisions to push that Retail type design philosophy and I would submit to you that you have Retail for that kind of design. Leave Classic as it is, with all its flaws and imperfections and at least let the core part of the community who love the game in this state enjoy it. If people can’t defeat Vashj/Kael pre nerf, bad luck. They can wait till P3 and do it then to catch up or decide to move on. Live with that and let your core audience enjoy what they want to accomplish.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. KT was impossible until BT was released. If he was possible to be killed people would have been doing hyjal before BT was released. Hyjal was cleared after people had killed illidan.

My dad guild has cleared KT and we want the nerf. There’s a ton of people that either aren’t raiding or have cleared the content saying they don’t want it nerfed. Please do at least make adjustments to the fights, clearing them weekly has been a difficult process and wiping on content we’ve already cleared (e.g the range threat bug with Capernian on Kael) is frustrating for the non sweaty players out there. This would help a lot and there’s a ton of players not using these forums that were saddened by the nerf being revoked even if it appears many here support it.

Wait until next phase.

Even if you don’t want the nerfs as they are stated here you have to admit some of the stuff in Kael isn’t working as intended. Some mechanics are bugged, people are going to wipe just for standing too far from capernian in P3 etc. So no, I don’t think I should wait until next phase for nerfs. More targeted ones would be better.

The fix is to address the dying servers and clump the current base of players onto a server so that the population is healthy. This gives the community the ability to recruit and weed out incompetent players who have repeatedly come here asking for what many would consider a change that is less than popular. When you neglect server pops you are forcing guilds to settle for scrap meat and this is what happens.

Fight is fine.

My guild is 9/10 and filled with dads, we raid casually 2 days a week. Nerfs are warranted this deep into the phase since it’s just not possible to do 2 full raids and prog very difficult fights within 6-7 hours a week. I know sweaty players will complain that they want their kill on Vashj to have more meaning (despite many of them using exploits) but frankly I don’t care.

TBC is already far from an authentic experience, the nerfs would be out if we used the live schedule since BT was already out by now. The fights were made to stop them being cleared prior to the release of BT and people getting into Hyjal. I know you want to gatekeep your kills but it isn’t good for the game, just your ego.

My guild too.
Everyone raid logs. People get home from work, we quick get this sorted out and start raiding.

We raid 2 days a week. We did 3 days a week for progressing. We do 2:30h a day, 5:00 a week

Theres dozens of people who care, I’m sure

They can just add ZA instead of nerfing.

Release Hyjal and Nerf.

From my experience, you have to pick your poison. Either play in a guild that has a few people who are crap at playing a game, or play in a guild with a few people who are crap at real life (toxic).

For many folks, getting new pixels a few weeks earlier just isn’t worth it if it means playing with horrible people who happen to be great at pushing their buttons.

So then it’s up to Blizzard to decide which guild-type to cater to, and I think they do about as good as you can, starting it off at the higher difficulty for the one group, then nerfing it for the other.

Sorry to hear that in your experience you were never able to play in a guild with friends that are also good players.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I’ve found 9 good friends, we have fun, and do well clearing content. Never found 24 of them. Like I noted earlier, when having to do 25+ man content, the guilds I have been in have either had to deal with a few people who are bad at the game or a few people who are bad at life.

So yeah, I’m jealous that you’ve been able to find 24 friends who are all awesome people, fun to be around, and all top tier gamers. That’s pretty awesome. Count your blessing.

He was possible. People were bad.

Look at the old kills, they’re a sloppy mess
