Raid Adjustments Discussion

I’m personally okay with the nerfs.

Everyone who was so gun-ho about “Difficult” bosses has probably already killed the bosses, so at this point why does it matter?

more guilds are 10/10 than 7, 8, and 9/10 combined.

If you look at NA/EU and not include Asia that is not the case. If you look at USA alone it becomes even more skewed towards the 8/10 and below crowd. It is likely this market share they are worrying about with regards to quitting. It appears this nerf seems to suggest they believe people are quitting due to content difficulty.

Based off the way they quickly backed off, it is pretty apparent they are very sensitive to the idea of upsetting even more players into quitting. Their MAUs metrics must not be looking that great lately.

It’s funny how they use forum posts and MAUs as metrics to decide the design, instead of, you know, professional video game designers.

Yeah, honestly I’m not sure if it’s my age or what have you but I really miss the days of buying a product and it being whole. Like when we bought games from CD downloads and didn’t have the opportunity for patching. They made sure that stuff was polished from top to bottom.

This creates an interesting scenario in the end.
10/10 and some 8/10 people are just furious.
No nerfs and now those that are not 10/10 and some 8/10 are upset.

If they dont go through with the nerfs, whats a possible outcome? Some people stay frustrated and quit.

If they do go with the changes, whats a possible outcome? Those that have already cleared the content do it faster since they arent going anywhere anyways and the others that havent, possibly clear it as well.

Hmm…what to do…what to do…

Allow us to skip to the endbosses and leave them un-nerfed. Problem solved. Thanks bye?

Imagine wanting a game to be made easier so you can beat it even though tons of other people were able to beat it as is… and then imagine still feeling a sense of accomplishment when you beat it after all the challenge was removed because you weren’t good enough.

I don’t know why I expected something different… it is 2021 after all. Participation trophies have become very popular with the masses.

If a lot of players felt the way I did, they would not feel a sense of accomplishment downing the bosses only after they received nerfs. I’m one of those hard stuck 8/10 guilds and I genuinely try hard, but unfortunately we have a mixed bag of raiders who are tight knit and so we make do with what we can.

If you’re gonna listen to the top 1% and revert much needed nerfs for content that deserves them then you might also wanna revert any ill-gotten rep gains players got from the Archivists Codex rep exploits. after all, I’d hate to see the value of such a tedious rep grind get diluted to such a degree. If you’re gonna bone players who work hard for their achievements then you might as well be consistent.

I don’t really see why people are getting up and arms over video game content that’s over a decade old.

If you already cleared it, good for you? Congrats? Why do you care then?

Just let the nerfs go through, I don’t see the issue. It’s how it was anyways.

Because challenging content is engaging, easy content is a slog. We learned this in MC but some people forgot.

Please put the nerfs in, my dad guild just doesn’t have the time to get past 8/10 at the moment.

Please nerf Void Reaver our guild just dies to triple flying balls, thanks!

reasonable nerf is fine, but the real problem is the number of trashes to clear, no one who has a life wants to sit in front of a computer playing a game that requires streamlined attention for 4-5 hours, also making raids more accessible are more healthy to retain a player base, of course, there are some people who would love to do the opposite, just not the general population, take note on that.

Nah man, MC just sucked. If MC was actually hard I would’ve quit this game after my 1st raid.

Why does everyone have to be 10/10? Why does everyone have to have all BiS gear? That’s not how TBC was designed. It was never intended that everyone or even a majority of players would kill all the bosses and get all the best loot. That is a modern LFR hero mindset.

The prior tier will get nerfed when the next tier comes out, to allow those who haven’t cleared it to catch up somewhat, but they will NEVER catch up all the way with the top guilds, and that’s by design. Working as intended.

Ok but imagine MC but the fights are harder and the tier gear was actually relevant

If you haven’t cleared in 2 months, what makes you think you’ll clear it in another 2-3 months besides by getting carried?

Personal progression? I can guarantee most, if not all of the 8/10 guilds don’t have gear gemmed, enchanted, or bring consumables. That’s not hardcore, that’s like baseline character play.
