If everyone in those raids performed at your level, you would never have killed those Mythic bosses. Not in 100 wipes, not in 1000 wipes; that’s why it was a carry. This is the last time I’m going to post about this because I’m coming off as a jerk but I’m trying to illustrate to you the issue with your experience and claims about these raids.
I cleared Vanilla MC, one time but killed most of the bosses in there about 6 or 7 times each. I did every fight in there in 2006 so I can only speak about the difficulty of the raid in 1.11 or 1.12. I also fully cleared ZG and AQ20 around the same time.
All three of those raids are no more than Normal difficulty level. I’m not talking about Normal final boss level either. Heroic G’huun was astronomically more difficult than any fight in all three of those raids. Heroic G’huun was more difficult than every fight I did in Sunwell outside of pre-nerf M’uru and KJ.
People keep talking about APES and their private server experience leading them to being able to walk through MC unchallenged. They went in with greens and plenty of people at level 58. The bosses don’t have any real mechanics, they stood there and spammed their one button rotations in their greens and the bosses fell over.
There is no logical path in comparing MC to any Mythic level raid, they aren’t comparable in the least. It’s also not even a problem for me; one of the reasons I’m playing Classic is because I WANT those easy raids. I like speed running easy content in a chill atmosphere. I like to casually compete with my fellow raiders while having a good time in Discord. I don’t like wiping endlessly anymore.
Games don’t have to be difficult to be enjoyable.
I started playing my Paladin in Dazar’alor because they killed the fun of Arms for me by changing the Execute trait I had. I also really didn’t like Dazar’alor and stopped raiding soon after its release until Eternal Palace. I hated BfA until 8.2, I’m not some die hard defender of everything Modern WoW but I do know how difficult the raids are now compared to 12+ years ago. Black Temple would only be at the difficulty of average BfA Heroic bosses. Everything in Mount Hyjal except Archimonde would be equivalent to Normal BfA raid bosses.
That’s not correct. There’s no time limit on Champion, and I believe Jadefire had percentage based phase transitions, not time based transitions. Before I took on the role of Angelic Renewal interrupter, I was in a Champion pull where the boss went well below 50% three times, getting healed by Angelic each time. They would have been way better off with less DPS and better knowledge of mechanics.
That isn’t to say there aren’t DPS check bosses, just that these aren’t them.
That may well be true; I didn’t follow those raids closely. I did get the impression that Blizzard wanted to make raids easier after Naxx 40 because so few people got through it.
Ban the entire guild, they are obviously a known guild on private servers and this is evidence that they have been using private servers to practice. Private servers are against ToS. So get rid of these fools.
I admittedly didn’t think it would be this quick, but also they did used layering bugs to push their rep through quicker, and it’s the 1.12 client with all its class reworking and gear advantages save a few specific things…
It was never going to be as hard as it originally was even if people forgot how to do it.
Agreed. It accounts for maybe a 10% reduction in uptime, which is why my uptime was 87%, which was what was under discussion. The other 28% less than the median DPS is likely mostly that I’m geared and specced for world PVP, not for PVE raiding.
