Rage Nerfs

Currently critting a mob gives no extra rage. It’s a very odd experience to upgrade your weapon and crit with a melee swing for 40% of its health and still get ~12 rage. This makes 2h rage generation absolutely terrible.

I am not sure if this is an intentional change as honestly I thought any rage normalisation would see levelling rage increased and late game rage decreased. This appears to just be a rage nerf and that’s a very strange thing to be implementing for levelling warriors who already don’t have much rage at all. Currently it seems like sword+board with protection block talents is a lot better at pressing buttons than a 2h warrior, which is an odd place to be in.

Also, on the broader topic of rage normalisation, there’s no real reason why blizzard can’t just balance warriors around having excess rage. Lots of other classes (mana dps) are limited by cooldowns or GCDs and that is not a balancing problem for them. It’s a pretty large nerf to the feel of playing a geared warrior if the intention is to take away the BT/WW+HS queue on most/all swings.

I’m not here to say that I think Forever should be as unbalanced as classic and warriors need to crush everyone (no world buffs, nerfed Bloodthirst, nerfed Flurry and buffed other classes seems like things should be reasonable already), just that the feeling of having lots of rage is really fun and it’s a very strange direction to take the class in.
