How can you make boring, uninspiring runes that add % modifiers to all damage, then be surprised that the damage will start to scaling out of control at 60? You then blame the rage mechanic on this while completely ignoring the terrible rune design?
You didn’t even have to come up with completely new things for runes, there are a lot of good options from future expansions like: shockwave, blood and thunder, second wind, bladestorm, sudden death, making rend revenge and thunderclap scale and not suck, etc.
The tone in that tweet gives me the impression that this rage change is coming. If you are going to drag warrior into these retail mechanics, then you at least better start giving us some retail QoL.
-Make shouts not a chore
-Make our attacks that don’t scale actually scale
-Stop making auto pick % damage scaling runes
-Stop giving us more tedious chores (commanding shout, Rampage)
-Give usable, impactful, exciting runes (like listed above), not useless never picked ones like Vigilance
-Give every spec a rune option in every slot, currently fury has nothing for helm all the while Vigilance wastes space in that spot being used by no one.

Vigilance could have been a good rune, if it wasn’t directly competing with 10% damage.
Sword and Board is fun gameplay… that isn’t used because fury has enrage and death wish for a 25% and 20% increased damage multiplier that Deep Prot has literally no answer to.
1 hand spec in prot is still only boosting the actual 1h weapon’s damage and nothing else.
Defensive stance still has a negative damage/threat modifier for no reason.
Shield Slam still does less damage than just using Slam.
Thunder clap is still mitigated by armor, resistible and scales with nothing.
Suggestions:
Flagellation is too strong/mandatory and has nothing to do with rage generation like the other chest runes. move it to Legs.
Sword and Board now also increases the damage of Shield Slam by 100%
Vigilance moved to Feet.
Shield Mastery also removes the damage penalty from Defensive Stance.
Furious Thunder removes the target cap on Tclap and now scales with Armor Value.
Endless Rage moved from Hands to Chest.
Victory Rush is now a book.

Agree, very disappointed in the SoD devs. They created garbage runes for warrior and then realized they don’t understand how the class works.
So instead of interesting new abilities, the class just gets railroaded for its performance in PvE while ignoring how garbage it is to do anything else in the game compared to other classes
In that tweet Aggrend he said he wants our thoughts, and part of that is probably because they are absolutely clueless about how to fix this without upsetting a bunch of players who might then quit.

I’m at the point where I want them to take a look into our good friend and buddy, windfury.
I’ve heard warriors say it gives them 30% more damage, I know enhance shaman alone gives my rogue almost 20% more damage from the combo of storm strike and windfury.
I am almost at the point where I feel to chained to windfury for performance and if these numbers are true I don’t think we should be getting that much damage applied from external sources.
To be fair rage normalisation is a great change, the amount of exponential scaling warrior receive without it is a massive issue with vanilla warrior design. I think it opens many doors for potential future design. (Whether the devs take advantage of it or not)
It’s also just not very impactful, Vigilance has always been a mechanic I’ve enjoyed but the threat exchange is minor, and if you’re needing it typically it means you still won’t be generating enough threat vs the person transferring it anyway.
The Taunt reset is nice to have but at that stage you already have threat issues and are in damage control anyway.
Some great suggestions above. My suggestion is talk to the guy who created the sim that we all use. No one on the planet knows warriors better than that guy.
My 2 cents is, if you’re trying to make us weaker when we have full world buffs raid buffs and consumables… make us a little stronger while we don’t have all that stuff. I rely too much on wild strikes especially. Lots of fun to play with it, but without it, and if I get bad RNG and no crits I’m just standing there like an idiot.
Honestly the biggest thing inflating Warrior DPS is Recklessness and CD stacking during the Execute phase.
If they just smoothed out Reck I believe that Warrior DPS would look pretty seasonable.
I agree that Wild Strikes being so RNG and swingy is a but annoying, and it’s also annoying that we are constantly being balanced around abilities we don’t have.
Everyone goes straight to 99 parses when looking at class balance and doesn’t seem to understand that almost every warrior one from now on will be because of recklessness.
They should just give the WotLK versions of the 30 minute cool downs… make em 5 min but not as crazy.
