As a ret pally who has raided every single gnomer lockout without seeing ACP, the lack of any comment from Blizzard is concerning and disappointing.
As it stands, ret pallies in phase 3 lose out on a whopping 80-100 dps by not having ACP. Druids got catnip, the Mekkatorque shredder only only impacts mobs up to lvl 45, but ret is stuck needing ACP to remain competitive.
At this point I’ve basically retired my pally outside of gnomer every three days and am maining another class.
I tweeted at Aggrend and never got a response. Overall, this situation is just a massive bummer.
The fact that Rets BiS weapon is a phase 2 weapon is what is really disappointing. Yes there is sulth from ZF, but even that is only “Second best” when ACP’s cooldown is down.
Blizzard pigonholed us into one rune where all of our runes revolve around meaning we can’t even pick up our interrupt.
nearly all of the DPS runes revolve around shockadin, leaving Ret high and dry. We’re middle of the pack at best and bottom at worst. Radio silence is terrible, while Warriors are hitting 2k dps, shamans still being king’s of hybrid. Guess hybrid tax is only in effect for alliance.
I also play shadow priest who is dead last in DPS. You hear “they’re too strong in pvp so they can’t do better in PvE!” and “they’re hybrids, lol!” But druids, shamans, and pallies can all tank/heal/dps vs priests only doing dps/healing and all of them (especially shaman) out dps them and bring amazing utility as well.
As much as I love complaining on forums about how bad RET is.
I wanna say a few things. We can do a a very decent DPS in fact if you look at boss 7! we are top 5 in dps because of how insane concertation is.
Trust me you don’t need ACP to pump I closed ST with ZF sword with very comfortable DPS and actually being in top 2 on 2 bosses against full geared rogues.
I am telling you we have strongest AOE dps in the game no one can beat me on trash mobs for aoe and on any bosses that have extra mobs.
The true true sad story of ret. Is a glorious slow weapon wielding chunky hit blaster being gutted and neutered into some hasted limp wristed seal twisting soy class.
They do be hating to read that. I remember tank soaking stacks as a fury warrior by pressing taunt with S@B on d stance block and shield wal if absolutely necessary.
