Radiant Decree > Wake of Ashes

My dmg feels more fluid and I thought I would miss the 3hp from Wake. However, now that I have used it for a couple weeks, I have to have it. I feel like my dmg is more well-rounded off of wings.

This is not based on calcs or sims, it just feels better.

anyone see it differently?

I think Radiant Decree would feel better as a capstone talent, to finish off a “Holy Fire/Burn Build” that a lot of people have been showing interest in.

I think Ashes to Dust has out lived it’s usefulness, and with Truth’s Wake it could be a pretty interesting concept.

The only thing I’m up in the air on with Radiant Decree, is maybe it has too short of a cooldown that it kindof trumps Divine Storm and Templar’s Verdict with all their talent modifiers so it feels a little on the rocks at the moment.

But, most of those TV/DS talents feel awful as is, so yeah, idk.

TL:DR:

  • Radiant Decree (and Truth’s Wake) would make a better capstone than Vanguard’s Momentum.

Yeah but like we already get it without it being a capstone so we probably shouldn’t complain about it or the CD. It is unfortunate that TV/FV is so bad because that’s the iconic spender that normally hits like a truck. I wish they’d do something to make it better because you are basically forced to take JV and never press TV ever. If the JV healing was baked into that part of the talent tree so you could run a FV build and if JV didn’t do more damage than FV that would be nice.

I dunno man, smashing things with WoA for over 100K feels pretty damn nice.

Radiant can crit over 100k ; )

Right now Radiant Decree beats out Wake of Ashes (with the reset talent obviously) in ST sims for my character. That’s as of this week’s vault. Honestly I’m torn. I don’t particularly like it in terms of creativity or how it impacts the flow of our rotation and buff management, but at least it is more deterministic than wake resets, which were problematic in terms of dps swings in s4.

Ashes to Dust is awesome, the problem is the giga nerfed Art of War and Zeal, not to mention Ashes to Dust itself. Season 4 with WoA resets was incredibly fun but apparently too much cause Blizzard didn’t like it.
