I write this not because I like to post in these forums, but the amount of racism that exists in wow is surprising. I was lvling my alter, entering dungeons or bg’s, and almost always receive an insult for being “Mexican”, but I’m not even from Mexico, I’m Chilean … even so, even if I tell them I’m from South America, they treat me like “jump walls”
I imagine that real Mexicans will feel when reading every insult, but seriously, do they feel good about insulting other people from other countries? Or only see Mexicans everywhere that is not the americans?
There isn’t racism in WoW. There is racism in people, and unfortunately the only way to avoid them is to stay in your house and stay off the Internet. I’m sorry that people suck and you have to deal with it, but yeah, not a WoW issue.
Pretty much this. People have the capacity to be awful to each other. That capacity is often demonstrated more easily when they believe themselves to be anonymous.
Sorry you had a bad time, OP.
Edit – The term you’re actually looking for is Linguism, btw.
People from LA servers are notoriously bad at the game and, to make matters worse, they don’t, or simply can’t, listen to instructions due to the language barrier.
you mean people actually chat in the groups you’ve been in? They never do in the ones I’ve joined.
Anyway, just avoid telling people where you are from if it is causing you problems. Or say your Portuguese or Spanish maybe.
All that crap Trump has started with his wall between Mexico and the US has got a lot of folks riled up.
It has nothing to do with where you are from or your race. It has everything to do with how well you play. Play well and people won’t care where you are from.
