You can customize the house’s exterior and you can pick a spot in the neighborhood where you want it to go.
I’m sorry but you’re frustrated over nothing.

Not really. I want a panderan house and in not getting it.
I can choose between human or night elf exterior and I can only make a house in a human zone.
That’s hardly any customization for the actual house itself.
Pay more attention to the streams and details. They will add more zones over time, which will reflect more racial diversity. You face lack of racial diversity, because you play Alliance and never cared for actual faction diversity in the first place. The “Horde”-zone offers enough to fulfill the needs of most races.
I think more housing zones will come. Like I said, might be a tactic they are using to test the waters, then again it might be that annoying tactic they have been using to drip content into the game to get people to come back. Either way, I think eventually more housing zones will be added. Until then, I don’t know, make a house for your Orc or Human.
Not even remotely true. Every character on your account can go to your house regardless of faction, and you can invite people to your house regardless of their faction. You could build a blood elf house in the Horde neighborhood and go there on your Alliance toons. This info dropped a long time ago.
Are you kidding me? I have advocated for Alliance to have more racial diversity for years, especially for draenei. I have complained about human dominance in Alliance content so much people hated me.
I don’t play either.
What? The zone has a spooky area for worgens and a beach and pastorial lands.
I would also argue the Horde does not have what most Horde race would want because it lacks a spooky area for the forsaken and more Eversong looking area for the Blood elves.
The issue is more that the night elven looking zone ended up Horde side because it was effectively borderline what the Horde had on the main continent.
Legion remix is around the corner. Best time to get one of those going.
If I wanted to play either I would already be doing it. I have no interest in either race.
The point still remains that there is very limited choice at the start of the expansion. Two housing zones and 4 racial exteriors. I’m sure there is a portion of the community who is tired of human and orc centered architecture after having to look at it for 20 years
Blizzard literally advertised housing as “boundless self expression” and then gave us 2 exteriors and 1 zone per faction.
I want nightborne and dracthyr. Nightborne style is super popular, but it might take a while to be made. Dracthyr are not as popular, but dragons are, so that might give them a bump up. That is for houses.
For neighborhoods it is much the same. Would love one in Suramar (might see eventually) or Thaldrazsus (will likely never happen).
Edit: Sadly Horde and Alliance themed neighborhoods are at the very bottom of where I would have chosen to live. Negative in score if it would let me.
If you’re going to look past everything they’re doing with housing as a whole to focus on not getting exactly what you want at launch, I guess that’s your choice. Can’t please everybody, I reckon.
Yes, yes, there are 1000 different shades of lipstick I can put on the pig, but it’s still a pig.
Blizzard neglected the big, important customization features in favor of making a bunch of tiny ones.
The little things are quite literally the most important thing about housing. Sure, the physical building outside matters too, but not to the same extent.
If Blizzard made sure that every race had exterior options and every race had their own neighbourhoods, but didn’t have the little stuff, you’d have people calling it souless and an empty shell, which is exactly what it would be.
They’ve already said that we’ll get new neighbourhoods and exteriors. It shouldn’t matter how long it takes for those to be made, as long as we get them. What matters is that the inside of your house, where you’ll be spending 90% of your time if you’re invested in housing, has all the things you need to make the house your own.
The house being unimportant for housing is a wild take.
What’s the point in having a really ornate house that matches your style, but a completely bare/simple interior because the small stuff isn’t there?
Try thinking about that, you can do it.
We have limited options of armor at the barber shop, and don’t lets forget about the fact we can transmog only 3 pieces of set…
We maybe have more options when is about body costumization, but about armor/set options we’re by far the race with less options.
Spoken like someone who’s already getting matching house and zone for their character.
