I think for alliance it is a toss up between night elf and dwarf for pvp. For pve lightforged draenei and night elf are p strong.
For horde belf has gotta be the best secondary for pve, but pvp I’m not really sure since again it’s so situational. I think belf still takes the cake with there being so many stuns out there, I just don’t see tauren as being beneficial unless you’re playing a comp with few stuns.
Honestly that kind of stuff does happen even at 2K.
Obviously not because it actually makes any difference which race you play at that rating, but its a perception thing.
People will judge you for not using every advantage you can and will frustrate easier because of it, specially in pugs.
Human psychology isn’t always completely logical.

I wouldn’t doubt some kind of swap in SL… Right now the alliance racials are mostly leagues better (outside of whatever can be an orc). My di dwarf can just remove so many dots and get a big damage buff!!! Makes me sad when I moo.

Velf racial (for ranged/rogues) and dreanei racial are slept on.
If I’m remembering right, worgen racial stacks with other speed increases. Macroing it to cheetah and master’s call could get you out of anything.
Don’t sleep on rocket jump.

It stacks with some speed buffs but not all. You really have to test each one to find out if they stack. You are def right though, when it works it is nice.
Outside of Orc racial, Alliance racials are objectively better for pvp. Human, Night Elf, Drawf, Dark Iron Dwarf, and Gnome are all amazing facials for pvp depending in which class you’re playing. Even Void Elf (vs a team running Spite trinkets) is very good.
Some Horde racials could use some buffs. IMO the furry races all need a buff. Like, they’re not good.
I wouldn’t trade Nelf or Human for the world.

If you enjoy world pvp and 1v1s and getting out of combat then it’s hard to top NE. You also can cheese dungeons and visions (Currently) and avoid a lot of content on top of that. Nice to sit above new home melded in a raid sucking up insanity shreds for a bit while you deal with wife aggro 
Hard to play any other race these days at least for me.
