i know this topic has been beaten to death but im struggling on what race to make my BM hunter, ive make orcs all the damn time and im sick of rolling everything the same race lol.
i do various content, im just a casual but do various content, raid, pvp and even some open world stuff, got my KSM this season on my BM hunter, that being said ive been thinking of switching races, some people say no stay orc since i pvp here and there others say it dont matter.
whats your take?

It was super beneficial to be Orc at the beginning of 10.2 after the rogue rework, because sub rogues were prevalent and they could kill any other race but orc in a triple cheap shot. But against orc, they can’t fit the eviscerates as they must re-stun back to back. Nowadays, not so important as there are hardly any sub rogues and health pools are enormous and will become even bigger.
Therefore, for PVP currently night elf is the best, followed by Orc. From the horde races Tauren is also good, but Orc is better. From the alliance races Dark iron dwarf will be very strong in S4 due to the rise of assa rogue and feral druid.
Regarding KSM, you’d be able to get it regardless of race for sure, if you managed to do it i S3, so don’t worry too much about it.

Dps wise they’re all really close, so its best to go with what you like the look of, or if you really insist on min-maxing then look at the on use abilities.
You’re going to spend a lot of time staring at that character so its usually best to go with a race you think looks good or that you feel a connection to the lore of.
Make a level 1 hunter of each race and play it through the Exile’s reach starting zone. That will give you a feel for them. The voices, the animations, the shimmies- find the one that feels right to you.
I rolled Orc, But I am thinking of rerolling ale troll, they look goofy and Some mogs work well on them. Plus a mini hero is always nice! Orc is slightly better but all classes are fairly equal.
