Please allow race changes in TBC, as pvp racials are exceptionally important in TBC. Free money for you blizzard! Lots of people will race change from vanilla to TBC.
I hope you aren’t correct. I think a lot more people would be willing to race change the characters they already have in vanilla, than level brand new ones. Some people just won’t play arena (or TBC at all) and will pay for neither.
This won’t happen, so not really worth discussing.
Besides you’re asking for a change yourself despite the fact you fully know what’s broken (perception) in TBC since it’s like the 3rd time we go through it.
Did you forget something? TBC Arena is play RMP or lose to RMP (JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER VERSION OF WOW) and BGs are green machines running into eachother brainlessly pushing buttons where racials are so low on the list of priorities as to be meaningless.
$50 dollar boosts spent on a new rogue mage or priest will trump the ability to buy a $25 race change.
Dual spec was already in the game, originally arrived in a “classic” expansion, the code was available, and it is something that is massively QOL with minimal impacts on gameplay.
Disabling racial abilities in rated pvp is something that has never happened in any of the 10 expansions, any of their patches, any PTR build, any beta build, it’s never something that has even been coded into the game. Therefore it is not worth discussing because it won’t happen.
Yes Rogue/mage is the dominant combination, in both 2’s and 3’s, but there are of course plenty of other compositions that people achieved glad mounts on. Focusing in on 2’s, the comps in relative popularity at gladiator rating and higher were
And so on. Some of these comps literally required specific races to the point that there were 0 Glad titles on Horde, but 10+ glad titles on alliance. Some comps had multiple racial options
For example, Rogue/Disc thrived perfectly fine as Undead/Undead on horde, but also as Human/Human or Human/Dwarf on alliance. Different advantages into different comps. I believe Mirlol preferred Undead/Undead, ultimately, as it did better into other priests and warlocks.
On the flip side, let’s take Hunter/Disc, zero teams got glad horde side, but 10+ teams got glad titles alliance side, because Dwarf/Dwarf is necessary to survive Rogue/Mage openers.
However, the point of the thread isn’t to discuss the arena meta in TBC, real players already know all of this. The point of this thread is simply to request the ability to purchase a race change!
I wouldn’t mind but i really feel GW2 handled them the best, they were completely banned in competitive pvp and raids but were designed as fun flavorful toys to screw around with in the openworld or World v World map (basically open world pvp).
I loved pulling out a steampunk bazooka when running a condi build on my Charr Thief lol.
If Blizz removed them from the competitive modes of the game they could actually make them a lot more fun since balance wouldn’t be a factor. Same as Engi toys for example.
Specially since the most powerful ones tend to be the most boring ones in terms of design/interaction. Hello Perception, Hardiness, WoTF, Escape Artist and later on EMFH.
why do you wanna pay for race-change? you have +8months to level the race you want to play in tbc now.
unless you want a belf which even if blizzard add shop race change they will not allow you to change to belfs, this is what happened in tbc-c 4years ago.
OH THATS RIGHT. Dual spec is a thing in Anniversary. Heck yeah!
idgaf about pvp for the most part, but yeah, racials do mess with it too much imho. It would definitely a good change in my eyes.
bro im so hyped for TBC ooooof.
Gonna be pumping MoP. Running keys on retail and mega pulling as prot pally in shttered halls with 2 mages and a lock seeding LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
