Could blizzard please remove the cooldown for these services ? Is it possible? I raced changes to a race I thought I liked and tried to do it again and got to wait 3 days for this race change again. Just frustrating
No they can’t. Especially the faction changing ones. You’ll be ok.
Imagine not just creating a new character on that race to see if you even like it
You can level cap a character within a couple days or so easily.
Some people have sentimental attachment to their characters…
Imagine being a toxic wow player…. Enjoy
Not that sentimental, considering they want to race/faction change all willy nilly…
How is it not?
It’s still the same character, even if it chances race/faction.
How is a character’s faction or race a fundamental part of it?
What? No clue what you are trying to ask.
It’s the same character either way, you can change whatever you want about it, doesn’t change the fact that it’s STILL the same character.
I have no objection to sentimentality. I’m just thinking that before I were to race or faction change a character that I really like I would create a brand new character of the same type to see if I enjoyed the new faction and race. I did it all the time with DK’s when I was trying to figure out which race I wanted to play. I would create one and play it through the starting zone and if I didn’t like it by the time I got out, I would just delete it and move onto another one. Eventually, I figured out which three races. I enjoyed the most and then had to whittle that down to one.
If you thought that was toxic, then you’ve got some really thin skin and don’t know anything about a comment. I made a simple suggestion that going and trying it out probably made more sense. The person you’re mad at right now is you because you wasted the money without testing it first and now you have to wait three days before you can waste more money to change back. The truth is not toxic and you should stop throwing around buzz words. You really don’t understand. Because there’s a difference between being a jerk and being direct and I was being direct.
Honestly, I’d bet there’s internal data reasons for the cooldown. Probably has to do with ensuring logs convert and save properly. Would suck a lot if you lost data on a character you were so invested in as to race/faction change it
Seems like a very logical conclusion.
Please dont patronize me lol that comment was definitely geared in a negative way… this post was mainly about race change and if it’s possible to reduce the wait time. Nothing more isn’t that deep. But go off
It wasn’t negative. It may have been a little snarky or sarcastic, but ultimately, I live in a world of logic. If I think I would rather play a different race for the character that I enjoy so much I would roll that race first to see if I even liked it. $25 is a bit speedy and doubling that because it was a mistake would upset me greatly and I would know because I’ve done it before. Which is how I came up with the idea of always creating an alt to see if I’m even gonna like it. So if I offended you, I’m sorry. but at the end of the day, it was just a comment.
The point portal was making was that most people go make a low level character of whatever race they are thinking of changing to check out animations.
Somebody understands. I’d rather make a free throwaway character of a forsaken Hunter or an orc hunter if I thought about changing my gnome. I want to know what the animations look like and how the gear looks on them. The other thing I can do is use the outfitter and animation tester on wowhead to give me an idea of what they would look like in very specific gear.
I think it’s pretty crappy that with all of the QoL changes that the producers have made, and the streamlining of content towards endgame, that things like realm transfers, name and race changes, still cost actual money, let alone a cooldown…
Level boosts and tokens, fine, but the weird monetizing of these other “cosmetics” has never really sat right with me, especially with all of the modern realm clusters and CRZ.
