I know this has probably been brought up before, but I’m just curious.
Humans can be paladins.
Kul Tirans are human, but can not.
Kul Tirans can be shamans.
Humans can not.
Kul Tirans can be druids.
Humans can not.
Dwarves are basically smaller versions of humans, but can be shamans and paladins.
But still, humans can not be shamans.
Earthen can be paladin. Dark Iron Dwarves can be paladins.
But Kul Tirans can not be paladins.
Draeni can be shamans.
But…Lightforged Draeni can not be shaman.
But both can be paladin.
Worgens, who are obviously part human and part wolf, can be druid
But a Panda can not.
Tauren can be paladins.
Highmountain Taurens can not.
Worgen can be a druid.
But Vulpera can not.
So, a wolf is okay, but not a fox?
So, everyone can be warrior, mage, hunter, rogue, priest, and warlock currently.
I know this is not new. But I was just chatting and mindlessly flipping through classes on the beta character creation and it just dawned on me that we have all these class/race restrictions and they don’t even more sense.
If every race can learn the ways of the above classes, they can’t also learn the other classes? It’s like…I only learned -this- section of the light and how to wield it, but I didn’t learn how to wield it as a paladin.
Same with mage and warlock. Every class learned how to do that, but they can’t learn how to commune with the spirits for shaman or commune with nature, which also has spirits, to learn druid? So, you can commune with demons/the nether/void/whatever, but not to a tree?
Lore, amirite?

No need to overthink it. It simply comes down to art assets and blizz not having worked on them. That’s it. It’s as simple as that.
It’s hard not to overthink about this. It just doesn’t make sense.
Meanwhile, Blizzard’s team is hard at work fixing that Anduin chin.
Assets and timing, I suppose.
If only they were a larger company who could pay for specific teams to do specific projects to improve the overall gameplay experience.
Shame.
This made me laugh out loud on a work call.

Yeah let’s be fair what do they need to work on to fit dracthyr into using mage warrior rogue hunter priest animations when they normalized all of them. I get paladin and druids will need special attention but ship the base classes out first then update them later in a newer content patch.
That’s pretty ignorant and racist
Okay - Dire Halflings, if you will.

I mean…take the slinky toy, for example.
If the slinky is fully stretched out, am I gonna call it a long slinky?
And if the slinky is at it’s shortest length, am I going to call it a short slinky?
It’s a slinky.
If we ignore the LOTR lore, WoW lore and just fantasy lore in general, and we base things off similarities and humanoid characteristics, dwarves are fairly similar to their taller human brethren.
I mean, I wouldn’t say dwarves are similar to Tauren or that Taurens are basically dwarves. Dwarves and humans just look very similar, sound very similar, albeit dwarves are more earthy and deep sounding.
I doubt I am ignorant for expressing my opinion that dwarves are basically short humans. Next, I will place a disclaimer stating these are my opinions but not fact.
Bottom line- class and race restrictions need to be removed and every race should be every class. There’s no legitimate reason why we can’t have, for example, Kul Tiran paladins, except for some form of plot armor or “the lore doesn’t support it”.
But hey. I value your opinion and comment. Thank you.

What is so special about Paladins that it prevents allowing them for each race?
I understand that there is additional artwork needed for druids (race-specific shape shifts) and shamans (race-specific totems), but for all other classes I don’t see anything special.
the mount has to be themed for the race
Perhaps redirect some effort from the WoW shop to the baseline game to get the pally mounts fixed. This should not be a blocker.

How hard would that be? Each race has there own mount already. Just put some yellow glow on it and call it good.
The funniest thing is, undead can be holy priests but not paladins, yet a cow can be one.
One would assume if undeads , who were previously human, could be one kind of holy then that already crosses whatever lore wall preventing so.
Also, if taurens can be rogues then there is 0 logical ties to lore at all and all class/race options should just be enabled.
