Hey everyone! I’ve seen my name float around a little and wanted to pop in and say hello!
My goal all last season and this season is to create a prot pal army and to convert every ret possbile to prot.
Why might you ask? Well I wanted to main ret in bfa but the spec is literally awerful. 0 mobility, terribleeeee survivability vs casters, ccd easily, and burst is easily avoidable due to general poor mobility.
Don’t blame me when you see stunandbung near the top of the ladder again. Blame blizzard for constantly nerfing ret over and over and just the poor design In pvp.

That is ONE thing i’ll gladly agree with you… blaming blizzard for everything, always. However, the biggest issue isn’t ret’s play-ability but how prot classes synergies with specific other classes removing weaknesses those classes have. Quite honestly either 1) prot classes SHOULD NOT be allowed in arena or 2) prot classes’s damage should be nerfed EASILY by 50% in arena.
Most of everything a prot does can be countered through cc. Lower teams have trouble cross ccing but higher teams are much better at this. That’s why u don’t see any prot pal high rating.
Prot warrior actually has no counter play and your gaurenteed to damp. Prot complaInning of prot go figure lol
Oh I also want to add that prot pal is actually really really fun to play. Ret is not fun at all for all the reasons listed above.

Prot palas- stun their angel, stun them and burst them, use dispells. Kapow. Prot palas are nasty, but not as nasty as the things they get partnered with. Dunno why everyone claims “only prot pala” is the reason for losses. It’s the entire comp.
Prot palas need an offhealing nerf again, but other than that I don’t see much of an issue with them.
oh I 1000% agree. Prot war is WAYYY more overtuned than prot pal. Literally a nightmare to play against if you play double dps.
I still won’t change my stance on tanks in arena but definitely respect a pal tank (slightlyyy) over a war tank ANY DAY.
My belief blizzard’s mentality is there are just so few tank specs up top that they hardly care (not that they care about anything baseline) that those are able to utilize what the specs offer coupled with specific classes that allow survivability and dampening the classes (especially prot war) are FARRR too strong.
Although we love queueing into you more than anything cuz it’s the most free points in the world I do feel bad for teams without infinite CC that have to face prot pala teams. I agree with this man though - nerf prot buff ret. Also we play with your healer now and no one plays with Dorito
Ahhh alexjones I always get excited when I q into a destro r Druid fire mage because I know if it’s you then you will not block half the time and give us free points. See what I did there.
Haha I definitely have not blocked before but I’m pretty sure I’ve only ever lost to you one time ever. Also we play with a MW not an Rdruid. We farmed you so hard last season but we more than likely counter the hell out of your comp so it’s to be expected. Just plz keep farming those RMPs for us <3
I’m literally the worst mage on the ladder Feels bad.
Am I the only one that doesn’t find Prot Pal healing that crazy? it’s more so the stun/silence/immunities it provides. I can heal as much as prot on basically any of my hyrids (some even more). IDK I din’t play it more than a few games.
