I had a conversation today where I’ve been having a discussion with another poster.
What I would like to see is 2 levels of nested quotes with headers:
- The poster that I’m quoting by selecting the ext and hitting the “quote” button that appears after selecting the text and
- The parts of my previous post that they are responding to along with the quote header.
I can see justification for allowing quote headers for 1 level further than that for an ongoing discussion between a couple of posters.
What actually happens is that when I quote a post that’s responded to my previous post, the header for the post that I am quoting shows up and shows the information for the previous poster, but the header of my previous post that they were quoting to respond to gets filtered and replaced with a > that simply indents the text of my previous post that they were quoting without any indication that they were quoting my previous post.
It will be challenging to carry a discussion unless the quote function is fixed to preserve the quote headers for nested quotes.
