f2p? Nah.
But have fun with ESO.
WoW’s quality would slide off exponentially if WoW went F2P, and it’s not necessarily because F2P bad. It’s because WoW is WoW. The subscriber barrier is the only thing preventing our game from being bottom of the barrel.
Its not the sub for me, but I do think they should hire more people to create more content if they want to keep people subbed for longer.
I really get the feeling that WoW is a cash cow for them. I feel like they are making the game in such a way where they think it maximizes their profit.
And maybe it does, but I think there would be less of a roller coaster of subs seen in recent expansions if they invested more into the product (again with content not time gated boring chores).
What do I know though. I am no business expert. All I can go off of is my own sub and its usually 2 months into a patch or expansion then unsub until more content. Not sure how many people do the same as me, but its probably substantial. I think if they spent a few more million on devs, it would make the game better and the subs more reliable without forced chores, just like old school WoW.
New world is coming out around May and it looks promising.
I mean. You can just do that with no comment.
It’s super easy.
lol. so the game sucks and you think going F2P is going to fix it…somehow?
Theyre cheap enough as it is. Lets NOT do something to give them any justification to cut costs even more, shall we.
There ya go…a viable, reasonable solution to a problem. +1
Theyre losing subs and interest for one reason…they cant make compelling content. When a writer runs out of ideas, its time to find a new writer with fresh ideas and new creativity.
Two points. 1) $15 bucks a month is not a lot to pay for a high quality game. 2) Can I have your stuff?
Does it matter? People will dismiss his reasons.
Personally, I don’t have a problem with the game being $15 a month. However, anyone who comes to these forums with ANY feedback for Blizz are swarmed by people who call them a troll, unreasonable, and tell them that their $15 means nothing and they cant speak their mind. This attitude is a problem. People feel all sort of ways about the state of the game, the forums should be an ideal place for people to reasonably voice concerns about the game.
As for the OP, if you are leaving for a specific reason that you feel should be shared with others as they might similar to you, try to actually provide reasons for your departure. Blizz may turn a blind eye to these forums, but some in the community may be able to offer suggestions regarding the game to alleviate some of your problems that you may not have thought of.
Either way…Happy trails and best of luck!
It’s not that I cant afford it, it’s the fact i have more fun playing a free mmo that is mostly unknown to me. WoW has been a fun ride and I might come back, who knows. I just think without new players this game is boring. Everyone that plays has played years before. It’s just the same game and I’m bored of it. Same meta, and same boring cookie cutter spec builds. Everyone has the same spec. It’s really not that different from BFA.
I avoid FTP mmos.
Always have, always will.
Never had a single one I enjoyed.
I’m looking forwards to that one
same…and when WoW goes F2P I’ll be quitting and going to ESO full time.
This game is annoying enough at times…I dont need them pushing product I dont want so they can replace lost sub $$$.
I’m waiting for New World and HOPE it lives up to the hype
I’ve watched gameplay videos and… no hype here, it looks just… bad.
Also amazons other game (crucible) turned out SO good right?
This so much.
I resubbed last week and found (and reported) TWO bugs within my first thirty-six hours back.
On the up side, one of the bugs I reported last August has been fixed .
Here is a whole list:

I also fell thru the ground to my death while fishing in the Underbelly of Dalaran, Northrend.
I am glad the game is running smoothly for you. Wish I could say the same.
Imagine thinking F2P would mean there would be less bugs
Well, 99% of those bugs are low priority so its no wonder they’re still around.
I wish they could fix falling through the world, but it’s gotta be something with they way they build the world because it’s happened since day 1.
