It’s fun to have Classic back and have it be a “fresh” experience again… but please, be careful.
I’m seeing a lot of posts here and other places of players claiming they’re quitting jobs, ending relationships, moving back home, etc so they can re-live the glory days of Classic WoW.
I’m hearing podcasts of streamers publishing absolutely insane schedules (something like 40 hours straight on launch, few hours sleep followed by 20 on, 4 off, 20 on, 4 off all the way to MC.)
Just please, take care of your mind and bodies… we’re 15 years removed from those experiences. Be careful.
5 days.

I’m over 40 now. No way I have illusions that I’m going to be re-living my days of no-lifing the game

Yeah I’m 37 now… I’m happy to take a day off here and there and totally nerd out in Classic… but the days of pulling off 3-4 days in a row with 3-4 hours of sleep are so far behind me that just thinking about it makes my head hurt haha.

The worst thing I’ve put together is that my toddler is spending labor day weekend with his grandparents. My wife and I play together (met in-game), and we know we can’t no life it anymore. Those three days will be glorious!
Boy gets to go to Disney, and we get to eat garbage while going on a gaming binge. Win-win.

TBH I do think most of them are troll posts looking for a reaction, but yea they are a little extreme. It’s a game guys, and it’s not going anywhere.

I had to stop my PVP grind at rank 13 back in the day cause there was no way I could both keep my job and finish that grind
I remember the dangers heh.

The quitting jobs posts I think are mostly trolls.
The I’m-not-sleeping-for-3-days posts unfortunately are real and I hope nobody gets hurt.

Hah that’s a win for sure! Sounds like it’ll be a nice trip down memory lane for you guys since you met in WoW and you get to go back to that.

I have an older brother who lost his job, got a divorce and moved back home. And he has never played WoW once. So its nothing to do with the game. At least these people will still have a game they love.

Don’t tell me what to do! I am going to play for 60 hours straight now!!!

Yeah I suppose that’s my biggest concern… players that did this 15 years ago thinking they can go do it again with no issues.
Hopefully it all works out and we all have a blast and no one’s life is ruined.
But… then again it wouldn’t be a true #nochanges experience if SOME people aren’t losing jobs/relationships/education over WoW, right?
Yeah I agree with you here. The missing funerals, moving into parent’s basement seem like obvious trolls. But so many of the hardcore guys have their routes set up and will be streaming the game non-stop for at least a couple days with short rest if any rest at all.
Maybe the 30 year olds who want to relive their teen years will try it for a bit and discover they just can’t no-life the game anymore. The rest of us will play as much as our schedules and mouse hands will allow
Don’t forget to have FUN, after all
And if your definition of fun is not sleeping for a week or whatever, then may the Force be with you.

I also have learned never to take time off at a launch. Chances are it will be the typical Blizzard catastrophe. I’m not in a rush to cap anyway. My goal is to have fun leveling and do some entry level raiding. Anything beyond that is just icing on the cake.

Right now a few friends and I have Wednesday scheduled as a day off. Hopefully giving them Monday and Tuesday to get everything stable is enough time.
If not, we can cancel the time off and do it the following week haha

I’m 35 and quit my job almost 3 years ago. I plan on not working for at least another 6 or 7 months while I spend 14 hours a day on WoW.

I wish any of the things you listed was the problem I was facing.
My grandma died. She lives across the Country and the funeral is early next week. All of my family is going to the funeral.
So I have a difficult decision. Should I play druid or shaman at launch?

Well with that being said you quit almost 3 years ago, it seems that you didn’t quit because of WoW, but you aren’t going to be looking because of WoW. I wish you the best of luck! I do not have that same luxury and must continue working, so I won’t be no lifing the game. Looking forward to just relaxing and reliving the old times of me being 9 years old playing with my friends on my garbage COMPAQ computer (I have a different computer now of course lol).
