IME, it’s usually a healer with a significantly outpaced MMR leaving these matches. You can do pretty well in your first placement match and then get thrown into a lobby so much farther ahead than what you’re ready for that it just becomes overwhelming. The penalty doesn’t really matter when you have no CR. It’s usually just someone on an alt who says screw this and logs out.
