First off I didn’t die. I always knew that the class I was playing “feral dps” had low dps. I thought it would be 25% lower than other DPS classes in the extreme side. I was wrong. After checking some raid logs I realized that fury warrior does 300% more dps than feral. Even Prot warrior out DPS kitty. This huge margin is ridiculous. But that’s just the beginning, Spriest, Boomkin, and basically all specs except fire mage do 2-3X less damage than fury warriors.

Knowing the same thing, having played WoW Classic, I decided to play a druid for hardcore. I expect to enjoy the journey as a druid, and if I make it past level 20, then maybe I’ll make it even further.

Anything is viable for HC. Even hybrids.
But yeah, for endgame raiding, anything off meta falls off hard.

If you’re not going to play Warrior/Mage/Rogue I wouldn’t bother playing Classic, these are the only DPS classes that matter end game.
They will NOT change the class balance. This is Vanilla Classic. This is how it was back then. There really has never been true class balance in WoW…EVER.

I sense troll. feral has been a running gag in retail since even my legion start. It wasn’t much better in the old days mostly.
As I understand it, that running gag about feral dps started waaaaaay before legion.
Retail guardian (since in classic its both, lets cover it all) has also been an issue for a while too. It had a nice hey day in SL…with the right covenant, tier gear and some not really well tested balance patching around 9.2.5.
They were god like in pvp. We started to call bear druids raid bosses in BG. You’d need at least 10 people to drop the them effectively. If you sent 3 people to kill the bear, the bear would win lol.
