Quit being so quick to kick new players from dungeons

Seriously this is a problem that has been going on for as long as I can remember. I was just recently in a group where the tank didn’t go the right way and got killed. “So what” I thought? “new player, it happens” immediately after a vote to kick them pops up cuz “he’s not here”

Seriously? one screw up and y’all vote to kick him? barely 5 minutes into the run. Of course the other players were just as eager and the vote passed. I voiced my displeasure with their decision and immediately left myself. IDC if i had to wait another 10 minutes for a new group. That’s a load of BS to kick someone for just one small hiccup and I want no part in that type of group.

and of course naturally one of the users(i know i can’t name them, but i can sure name the server they’re in, AeriePeak) went to whisper me talking trash after I left. I could and probably should have reported them, but I know the likelihood of that achieving anything, so i just ignored them and closed the window.

Either way my main point is, quit being so quick to kick someone who’s new to a dungeon. When potential new players see that this is the type of atmosphere that plagues wow, it’s no wonder they don’t want to stay long.

One more reason i stopped healing for the jokers. they want to kick a tank over petty crap…thats fine…they can find another healer while theyre at it

Unfortunately the players that do this are probably not on the forums

Very few people that still play ever visit the forums it seems. With how GD is lately I wonder if the forums are composed mostly of people that pay the sub fee just to troll people here

Wait…these forums come with a game?

Is it fun?

The current system design breeds a ton of burnout in the players that didn’t quit

Burnouts are grumpy, not really having fun, slaves to the hamster wheel, who lash out on minimal triggers

This is bliz’s fault, they don’t need to design systems this way - they could put timed stuff on optional tracks for cosmetics and get rid of keystones and other similar changes

The game is this (brings hand up to chest height) much fun.

The forums are THIS (hand goes above head) much fun.

I have to agree with you. The level of arrogance of some players is extremely toxic. Most players forgot what is was like to be new and to not know routes. If this toxic environment continues you will have the fewer and fewer people willing to tank for the fear of screwing up.

…and another just now who was wanting to kick the tank cuz he didn’t pull the last boss to the back of the room in the MOP palace to avoid the AOE damage.

Thankfully the tank was doing fine, and the healer was great, so the scream to kick fell on deaf ears, but still, one person was so trigger happy to kick.

That was one of the reasons I quit running dungeons.
Tank took a left instead of a right, quickly corrects, but the kick comes up with some nasty comment and passes. I told them they could wait for another healer too and bailed.
These are the same jerks with the “itz uh MMO’z” line when we complain about group content and players.

I got kicked once for not clicking the summoning stone correctly.

Unfortunately for the transmog I want, I have no choice. It’s why I have to wait 30+ minutes for some dungeons to queue up.

I really wish they still gave us the gear appearances from MoP scenarios and let us solo them, cuz I’d be all over that right now…

At the same time though, it’s been a nostalgia rush doing these dungeons the “right” way again, and not just blazing through them at max level. (i’m doing this on a new toon)

If you don’t say anything back, it’s very high! If you’re in the right, you get lots of messages from Blizz saying someone you reported got JUSTICED! Good work, good people :+1:

Of course they got kicked. We don’t want new players to learn and improve, it’s better to discourage and demoralize so we can complain about queue times.

which dungeon and which difficulty?

Can be.

Other day I saw something in many many MANY ashrans I ahve never seen before.

A big old mash up fest at ROC for several minutes. It was actually fun and interesting. Better than guardian meta battles and a nice change of pace from bridge fights. Both sides less than 100 points and we haven’t even played kill the mages game yet.

That was a nice battle.

I dont kick after one mistake but if they keep making mistakes after being told what to do then i kick or leave, i dont have time to hold people’s hands through dungeons when i am trying to level, with all the material and guides out there even for new olayers mistakes should be rare

I am doubtful they were a real ‘new’ player. New players do BFA dungeons and after that they could learn the others by taking their characters into the old ones and doing them solo.

Shadowlands?

No.
