Quick questions about casual BG PvP

Ive played BFA off and on a bit since launch, a bit of legion here and there, I miss playing BGs regularly. So 2 quick questions-

  1. Is it possible to play strictly pvp at 120? How much PvE will I have to invest to be competitive in random BGs? By that I mean, for my necklace, gear, weapons etc.

  2. What classes are decent in BG pvp at the moment? I prefer ranged DPS, but dont mind melee. I also enjoy healing too.

Thank you for your time.

You will have to do island expeditions to get the weekly 2500 artifact power, world quests, and any emissary quest that give artifact power to level your necklace. Unfortunately other than 500 conquest reward you will have no control over what pieces of gear youll be able to receive through the pvp reward system. So i would suggest doing mythic+ to collect enough titan residuum to purchase azerite gear. For classes in battlegrounds all are viable due to the lower skill level of the players playing. Mage, warlock, and ele shaman are strong ranged dps currently

You can skip all the pve and do straight bgs and emissary quests to be viable. You might be outgeared but just need to play smart.

for #1 you dont have to do ANY PvE, maybe a few quest to actually get the necklace for example.

But if you dont mind the time…you get AP, gear, just from doing BGs. So just Q up and stuff will come.

Majority of my Alts level through only PVP, dont do any PVE. At 120, as BGs are your only source of “upgrades” you have to keep playing…and winning helps it go faster.

WIthout PVE, it is slow as you only have ONE source of loots. But all can totally be done without ever leaving your main city.

Pretty much will have to do pve easier to do and the gear is better.

A decent player will get by just fine with 0 PvE but I don’t recommend it. Do the warfronts on rotation for as long as the ilevel pieces they award are of use to you and do every incursion that you can for the conquest.

Mythic+ will be a more efficient way to gear but it is in no way mandatory. Don’t like them? Don’t do them.

As far as islands go, I mean, the PvP ones are decent sources of conquest and AP apparently. Really, as long as you have all the actual traits on your azerite gear unlocked (don’t stress the 5 ilevel upgrades too much), your neck is fine. Everything you do grants AP.

Balance druids are ridiculous. They also have a healing spec you can toy around with as a side project since you enjoy that role as well.
