Quick question about the elements

Still not finished the campaign yet, but i got thinking:
So, the primalists is messing with the elements for a while now.

Are they using a solid Shamanistic power? I mean, Thrall did a fairly “small” mistake using shamanistic powers against Garrosh and he lost his powers, and the Primalists are wreaking havok and killing innocent people with elemental power… are the Elements ok with it? Or they are harvesting their power from something else?

And the Elemental lords, like Therazane and Thunderaan, are they aware of it?

The bit about Thrall is actually a misunderstanding. Thrall lost a lot of confidence in himself after having to put down the same man he appointed to power, and due to the conflict in his heart he could not wield the elements properly. When Garrosh first arrived on Draenor, the elements were screaming for someone to kill him because they picked up that he was a temporal anomaly.

For the Primalists and their use of the elements, elementals each have their own thoughts and desires. Some want to be at peace, others want to unleash their power upon the world, other are relatively mindless and just do what comes naturally to them.

Thrall lost his powers entirely due to his own self-doubt. The Elements don’t make moral judgements, but they will not answer a voice that’s weak or indecisive. That’s why shamans like Ner’zhul have no problems wielding elemental powers, they’re totally all in on their conviction and self confidence to basically ORDER the Elements like servants.

Yeah, there basically could never be evil shamans if the elements would abandon anyone who did bad things with them. And we know there are evil shamans in this setting.

Dark Shamans force the elements to serve them

The real question is the silence of the elemental lords themselves. Therazane just wants to be left alone yet tons of her subjects are leaving deep holm to go deal with mortal bull crap. That’s the thing that annoys her more than anything. Dealing with us. Neptulon seems like he would out right disapprove and stop his subjects from participating yet there they are.

But how much do these Lords actually “lord” over?

Maybe they’re just the most power ful Elementals that have ever been summoned and nothing more.

What?

We’ve been to the Firelands and Deepholme. We’ve observed the structures of lordly authority in place there. They’re directly modelled on nobility and behave as such. This isn’t guesswork, we’ve seen it.

But who’s to say we’ve seen the totality of those places? Deepholme for example itself is too unbelievably small for that to represent the whole of the Plane of Earth.

It was literally created for the specific purpose of being Theradras’s domain. That’s why it exists. That’s the deal the Titans made with the Lords: you can be in charge of this cute little sub-realm in exchange for leaving Azeroth alone.

I don’t see how the size of it is relevant to any part of that.

Deepholm has pockets beyond the Zone as shown with the Stonecore.

Who knows how many Zones could exist in Deepholm unnoticed beneath the surface.

We visit two portions of Skywall too: Vortex Pinnacle and the Throne of the Four Winds.

We also visit two portions of the Firelands: the Raid and the Molten Front Zone plus a couple of Subzones from Mount Hyjal. Furthermore the Throne of Flame is a portion of the Firelands dipping into Azeroth.

We only visit the Throne of the Tides Dungeon for the Abyssal Maw yet there seems to be an entrance to another portion of the Elemental Plane we can’t access yet.

There is so much about the Elemental Planes we haven’t seen yet. We could get entire Continents for each of them if Blizzard wanted. Blizzard could even pull off the same stunt as they did with Zaralek Cavern and have a means to fly into the Deepholm Continent via a Cave inserted into the Zone.

The logic can be extended to the Elemental Lords themselves, they may not be the end-all of the Elementals, they may not be rulers of the whole of each elemental plane.

We also see hints concerning both Bastion and Ardenweald of more beyond what we see.

Bastion has a City beyond the Spires of Ascension we can’t even visit and Ardenweald has Forests below the Plataeu Layer of the Afterlife we visit.

Of course Ardenweald means Upper Weald so it’s basically a Plataeu of the Feyweald with the Plateau’s Underground area being the Underweald while the area surrounding the Plataeu would be the Lower Weald.

Revendreth despite stealing lots of Anima kept it in a specific place ensuring there is nothing but what we see thus ensuring that the Maw would be visible since Revendreth is just an island Demiplane floating in the Between not an entire Plane of Existence.

Technically the Maw is infinite like a proper Plane of Existence though it seems most of it is the tower Torghast not the Zones themselves which are just stolen Landmasses made larger via Soul Dust(fun fact: we only see Souls outright die in Torghast or by our own hands as otherwise they are kept alive via Torment causing them to generate Anima despite normally being drained of Anima).

Bastion the Infinitely Large Elysian Fields, Feyweald the Infinitely Large Fey Forest, Torghast the Infinite Tower, Maldraxxus the Infinitely Large Corpse and Zereth Mortis the Infinitely Large Factory of Infinitely Large Afterlives. All Infinitely Large Layers of the Plane of Death.

All 5 could be made into Continents.

Of course I’m sure none of us are interested in what a Continent in Torghast would look like. We already know the answer to that: Blue Minas Morgul Area, Red Mordor Area, Dusty Brown Mordor Area, Green Minas Morgul Area… Infact all the Wings of Torghast are practically Zones in of themselves making Torghast already a Continent! A Continent without Questlines for those Zones…

Talky Man makes Throg’s head hurt!

My talk makes me want TV Shows of such infinitely large places so that their infinitely large size can result in even more areas to visit for flavor than what is simply on the Map.

A Map that can continue to grow infinitely in regards to an infinitely large Layer of a Plane of Existence allows for more adventure and wonder.

I like discovering new things and seeing endless new stories surrounding them(Questlines or Machinima) as it’s like a TV Show.
