Fantastic. He’s having some sort of angst meltdown on the wow boards.

I really want to support Hong Kong and I think it’s pretty clear that the best way to achieve lasting change is to complain in wow forums and then unsubscribe. But I can’t because I paid for a six month subscription. Is there anything else I can do to help? I know there’s nothing that would have the impact of a complaint in wow forums but maybe there’s something I can do.

Heh the entire WoW player base, classic and retail, is a rounding error in china’s population.

No because making Trump upset wont cost them money.

That’s always been what it is. They’re not pro-censorship or pro-China or anything like that. They’re pro-money.

Activision(and most major corporations) are run by people who would sell their own mother if it helped their bottom line. Morals have nothing to do with it, because they have no morals and they never did.

Blizzard has been jumping through hoops for the Chinese government for over a decade now. It’s just that now they’ve done something people find offensive.

and they’ll continue to side with China. Again not because they’re pro-China but because China offers a gaming market several times the size of what North America can offer.

I don’t often(ie almost never) agree with Ziryus but here’s right here: We’re little more than a rounding error compared to China’s market.

As the country moves further away from religion (which previously created a sense of purpose)
and no longer has world wars threatening the safety of the civilized world like WW1/2 to galvanize the country…the younger generation attempts to combat rampant nihilism by loudly proclaiming their verbal support (they lack the resources for any other support than this) of social justice/human rights issues

It’s sad people are focusing on this and not other protests as well, or how the US just abandoned the Kurds.

Technically, for anyone that really wanted to do some good in the world, the best possible plan to do so would be to quit WoW, focus on the education and skills to work in a very high paying career and be frugal

Then take this money, networking, and resources saved and use that to change the world. Bill gates hasn’t always had perfect ideas, but he has given more than $30 million to charity and single-handled eradicated many of the world’s problems (used to be a good documentary about him on netflix)

But nah, ya’ll too lazy for that stuff. You’d rather pretend that positing on a video game forum is accomplishing something

Ok Wayne!!

lolz guy literately spent 20 bucks to make an account to get banned.

Go to regular wow general with this political hogwash. Literately thousands of companies have TOS with terms about respecting local laws hell even XBOX would have banned the player if it were an XBOX event.

“Xbox Live is available in countries all over the world, and it’s important that people of all backgrounds feel safe and comfortable on our platform. To help ensure this, we must respect local laws and remove content or behavior that advocates or promotes illegal activities.”

The villain here isn’t Blizzard lay the blame where it belongs with China.

If you do not let them know that they crossed a line, then the line will move.

It’s not just the Kurds, it’s a very long history really. But they are not a glamorous cause so too bad for them.

Nah it’s gotta be more than that. The WoW population actually has females.
