Queuing AV is simply too risky of an activity

I’ve been doing the honor grind on two toons. I talk in the BGs, and I engage in actual PvP. I have not once gotten so much as a chat squelch.

The only “risky activity” in AV is not engaging in any activity in there at all.

Your head is in the sand, friendo. A massive ban wave just went out last night and took down a huge chunk of the server. Many false-positives, myself included.

This will always happen as long as they allow their crappy algorithms to dictate whether someone gets banned or not.

But don’t worry a HUMAN will take a look at that algorithm data and hit the ban button the algorithm itself doesn’t do the banning!

I was last suspended for it during TBC classic as a false positive, I did get unsuspended after a few days but players shouldn’t have to and wouldn’t have to deal with the appeal process if they would do their damn job and actually observe people in the bgs being afk before they enact a ban rather than looking at spreadsheet data.

Same here, I give snarky/sarcastic responses in chat without using foul language, fight mid every game, defend if I die mid
Basically annoying the Horde and my own team at the same time, every single game
And I’ve been doing this since lvl 51 to boot, and still not 60 yet lol

At this point I want to get banned so I can join the supposed huge chunk of the population that got banned, I want to join the angry masses
Probably just a loud minority though unfortunately

In the weeks I have been playing AV have only seen 2 callouts for reporting someone, two, in like 4 weeks of AV

i was in an AV last weekend and a bunch of idiots were calling out to report a couple people who went get their trinket in the cave, then calling out to report anyone who doesn’t do the 5 minute let Horde win crap, these people that are calling out to report need to be banned.

And yes, that does seem to be primarily what this was about. While we appreciate reports, calling out other players in chat can actually be toxic and disruptive to your fellow players and matches - especially on this level. Evidenced by the number of times you were reported by said team mates in what I’m looking at. There does come a point when one might wonder how much of your attention is on the match - and how much attention is on this. Reporting is fast and simple. Taking the time to call them out in this amount of detail - well…

We don’t really have enough details on how exactly that OP was calling people out for AFK of course, but I suppose I do find that mildly concerning haha.

I don’t think it’s particularly toxic to call attention to people who are afk and asking others to report them so they get action. I also find it somewhat concerning that the blue poster would call out how much effort is taken in doing this vs. playing the match… one wonders if that blue poster has ever guarded an objective in AV before.

At the end of the day I don’t have the information the blue poster has, so I can only respond directly to the things they say in their post. I too have never had any actions taken against me for playing the game (or calling attention to AFKers), but I also don’t play on anniversary where the bulk of the players are right now either. Blizzard seems to have given a lot of power to automated processes, which I suppose is also concerning. Understandable to be sure, but concerning…

Blizzard giving us this version of AV that you can just rush to the boss and win in 6 minutes does not help things, how about a version of AV that you need to do the objectives or it is very difficult to take down the boss, and a version with the caves fixed.

I wasnt calling anyone out for anything. I dont even speak in AV because its too easy to catch a chat gag for saying some thing people disagree with.

I press queue, I kill LT’s, I walk to Drek. If horde wipes, I help DPS drek until he dies, or we wipe, or horde wins.

My best advice is to ignore the bootlickers who justify this behavior from blizzard. They are not level headed enough to have an intelligent conversation about the issue and instead personally attack you.

Huh. Ive had zero issues with queueing AV. Have you tried leaving the cave and trying to win? Those, from my experience, seem like surefire ways to never get reported.
