Queue Times and Mismatched Matchmaking in SSF Arena - Blizzard Needs to Step Up

It is literally Blizzard’s job to create a matchmaking system that:

  1. Is competitive
  2. Has fast matchmaking
  3. Is fun to play

It seems like Blizzard continues to band-aid the problem of terrible matchmaking times by throwing people of random MMRs together just so people can get into a game. The game needs significant changes, soon.

If people don’t like to play healer, you need to fix it. Not by offering them in game currency or throwing them in random lobbies, but by fundamentally investigating the problem of “why” and fixing it. Same with DPS classes.

The current situation of either waiting for an hour to get a competitive queue that still might not suit your class, or getting thrown into a mash of people who have such wide ranges of skill it is worthless is not OK. For all the people paying 15 dollars a month, we deserve better than this.

There should be consistent, quick and reliable support that is worthy of paying recurring subscription to fund this game. I know this is a hard concept to grasp to Blizzard as they have gone to become one of the worst falling video game companies in history, but this is how you start. Sacrifice your money and bottom line to actually make a good game, like you should have done this whole time. Money follows success, not the other way around.

I think RSS does all those things you outlined already

this might be hard since the player base has such a huge skill variance most the play base never got past 1800 before solo shuffle and it wasn’t because they couldn’t find people in LFG

when you got people running it down losing heals wasting defensives legit afk

Tell that to my healer queues with random people, and tell that to my dps queues that can have anyone from 400 rating to 1800+ rating. Tell that to me while I sit in queue for 2 hours.

Then I will call you a liar because that is what happens, all the time.

No they don’t. If they do they should post the statistics and prove it like a reasonable and honest organization.

It’s almost like the game doesn’t match players off of CR and instead uses a matchmaking rating.

For sure it will be hard, but that is why Blizzard should be attracting, retaining, and paying people who are smart and capable of solving hard problems. It will be a journey, but the journey is not just warranted - it is needed.

Just joined another queue on my dps alt at 1700, the rating distribution is:
0
79
1400
1700
1670
0

I will literally compile my own statistics if need be, this should be fixed.

CR doesn’t matter in SS how do people not understand this the only thing that matters for SS is MMR

like i got 3 toons that are like 2080-2180 cr but all of them 2500+mmr

also pretty sure mmr starts at 1800 now after inflation

Sounds like a git gud situation

like when you push 2s 3s SS rbgs the only thing you should care about is mmr really

Please refer to my original post, where I declare: Matchmaking system that is competitive

If this confuses you, please read up on the definition of competitive. I can see why some people think having non-competitive games where they stomp is fun. But it isn’t fun for the other 5 people.

Now, refer to the third point in my original post: Create a matchmaking system that is fun to play.

Maybe you now can understand that just because you gain rating over time, doesn’t mean it will produce a successful system that attracts and retains players. It is important for it to be both fun AND competitive.

Is there any sort of matchmaking system in existance that will competitively match people who have never played a game to give the system data? because I’m thinking the answer is no.

I have seen some 0cr starting above 2k lately…
