And I am not trolling or exaggerating. I have hit escape on every single cutscene, that allows it, since I started playing in 8.3. Have not watched a single one in game (though I confess I did watch a few on YouTube later). But while I was playing, zero.
As for quests, never even one time on the thousands of quest I have done have I ever read the quest text “story”. I click the NPC, accept the quest and then check the right of my screen for what I need to do.
I don’t know why. I know people say it’s a story that makes the game but I just don’t care about the story whatsoever. I just like the action and doing stuff.
Though if I get stuck on a quest I enter it into wowhead and I do read that.
Is what I use these days. It’s like AzerothAutoPilot if you’ve ever used that but it works for every zone in the game and some max level stuff like the covenant campaign. It includes helpful info on things you may get stuck on “the lever is behind the bushes” or something like that.
Oh also it doesn’t do “fastest leveling route” it’s closer to 100% all quests in the zone and you can set it to make you hit rares and treasures as well
I usually watch the first time through. There are some that are so good, I go out of my way to watch them again in game. Like Illidan offing Xe’ra.
There are way too many cut scenes in wod dungeons. But the massively stupid one clicks in when you kill a boss in Auchindoun. If you don’t cancel immediately, you’ll probably die because you were standing in fire at the end of that fight. Cut scene = death is stupid.
Lol I have full-blown, pretty life-affecting ADHD, and I am literally the opposite. I read every quest, even if I’ve done it 1000 times, and watch every cinematic, and will disconnect from discord if it’s the first time seeing it.
Different dopamine hits for different folks I guess, lol
I don’t read quests are rarely play with the volume on to hear when a lore figure reads it to me. I like the story enough to watch cutscenes before they’re implemented into the live game, but I have addons that auto-skip all that without me having to hit escape
