Quests and World quests are rewarding less gold in TWW

So, I’d like to get here all your “gold sink is needed” theories from all the economists graduated from GD forums.

I shouldnt be surprised, farming for gold via world quests was so much more enjoyable than trying to find an older farm spot that wasnt nerfed by blizzard.

I think Blizzard is getting more cunning with this economy balancing. Not only do they have significant costs for players (particularly warband tabs and transmog), the world doesnt give as much gold. Frankly i think SL and DL were outliers, prior to that world content rarely gave more gold than 100 cept the rep chests or the rogue weekly in legion.

I noticed the same… dragonriding purses from a WQ used to be 500-600 gold… they’re not 150-200 gold. That certainly is a “fix” to gold inflation, but I feel it’s going to hurt those that are farming gold for game-time more than those that are already sitting on millions across multiple alts. That target audience needs a real attractive gold sink (ala the AH mount).

Maybe it will drive the cost of a WoW Token down, but people with spare cash probably don’t care that much; people scraping for gold to buy game-time every month probably care a lot more.

Best thing they could do is just flat out reset the economy but anyone riding off their WoD gold would throw fits.

So I took the “skip leveling to go to max campaign quests” option with Bran on my alt paladin (not this one, which was first to 80) and that alt is now seeing this quest in Isle of Dorn, so maybe they’re not ALL nerfed (or maybe this is a rare exception to the new normal)?

P.S. Found another quest in the same zone (Isle of Dorn) for 782g just for taking pictures on a Cataloger’s Disc, so maybe the gold nerf was just for leveling?!

The Skyriding bag used to reward roughly 900g in DF… so expected “inflation” was going to be ??? but now we get like 120~200g.

I did the WQ at max level. The catalog used to reward about more before season 4 DF and this one with 820 is a new quest then we can’t compare.

Overall all the other quests they reward about the same or less gold than DF did.
And things are more expensive right now: repair, recipes (from profession trainer).

maybe the skyriding bags are limited in early access

And every other quest too?

I think you two-shotting a named mob shouldn’t give 1000g.

i saw a 700g world quest late thursday

DF were 600s to 800s

And which quest you were two-shotting a named mob in DF giving you 1000g before?

World boss is down to 300g now.

Those elite-progress quests were changed to 92g-105g on DF.
Catalog to is now 105g.

But then again, the regular quests are awarding about the same gold we used to gain in DF.

DF skyriding bag is rewarding about the same gold as TWW skyriding bag lol.
