Questions regarding the level 60 boost

Hail and well met, folks.

While I’ve dabbled in WoW here and there over the years, I am very much a Newbie, and one with some questions, if I may.

First, regarding the Lv 60 boost, and I’m referring to the free one that I got with my Dragon Flight expansion purchase, not the one that costs $60 USD.

My plan, being new to everything, is to level lock at 59, and chromie my way through everything, so that I can experience everything most of you probably have already.

Now, having said that, are the other items in the 60 boost package, (since I wouldn’t need the boost in and of itself), worth using on a, what will become a “natural” level 60 character?

In particular the weapons & armor, (iLvl 148 I think I read), flying skill & flying mount, and 22 slot bags. Pretty sure that the gold amount is a pittance, lol.

Or would the armor & weapons I’ll have from quest rewards, and loot for overland solo content be better, or good enough? What about the flying skill/mount and bags?

Or should I just bank the boost for a rainy day? Again, the free one, (though in a sense I did of course “buy” it when I bought the expansion, lol).

Another question…

I’m currently playing my two main characters through BFA, one Horde side, one Alliance. Both of course are in different environments, have different stories/quests, and totally different playing experiences.

At any time throughout the game, expansions, world do the stories/quests/environments merge where I’ll simply be repeating everything, or, as in BFA, will they always be different, so a different experience when playing?

Thank you all for your insight and help.

if you are planning to level a toon no point in spending the boost period. there is no time limit to use them. the boosts are locked to the current expac though so if the next expac raises level cap to say 80 and u get a boost for purchasing that expac the DF boost will remain capped at 60 and the new boost from the new expac should go to 70.

the boost is meant to simply boost toons so you can get into the current expac. the bags are not worth it really, the gear is meh terrible ilvl and will get replaced as soon as you get into DF so the only thing worth it really is the flying which is cheap af if doing end game you shouldn’t have an issue with that tbh and if you do then something is wrong. and the gear for Xmog but the gear itself isn’t anything amazing in terms of xmog and idk if you can get them outside of the boost. i would assume so but i can’t confirm.

Thank you very much, that was very helpful.

Just a small piece of advice. If you want to play chromie time forever, level lock yourself at 57 or lower instead of 59. Once you’re level 59, they will stop you from changing your dungeon pool (aka chromie time era). That way, you will be able to enjoy Chromie time to the fullest. Good luck.

Thank you for that.

When, in another post I asked when I should level lock, (admittedly strictly referring to solo only, PVE only adventuring), the answers were a resounding 59… but maybe that’s because I’m not interested in grouping?

I’m assuming that dungeons are group things?
