Ok, so I played pretty hardcore during Legion and BFA as a Multi-Boxer (5 toons at once). I used the software and all those kinds of things when they were allowed. We got shut down in SL and I refused to stop using the software…. Suffice to say, I was banned and was ok with it.
Well, now I am back and an all new account. Been playing about 3 weeks and I sometimes play 2 toons at once (alt - tab) - No software or anything. But it occurred to me today, as I haven’t really spent much time understanding Warbands, that there really isn’t a need to run 2 toons at once for reps/currencies/Tmog anymore is there? Mount farming is a different story of course. Or will it still benefit me/make certain things twice as fast?
What am I missing or not understanding or is that pretty much it?
If you run a raid on one character, you can unlock a lot more transmog than before, even if you don’t wear that armor type. There are some exceptions like class-specific armor in molten core, but the benefits of multiboxing are comparatively fewer.

I mean unless you are doing group content solo, multi boxing isn’t really needed.
Yeah… I havent queued for a single dungeon when I multi Box… primarily used for currency farming (like the zereth mortis zone currency for mounts) and a few others. and my daily mount rounds. hmm might make sense to do for PVP Epci Battlegrounds to get Honor a ton faster.
Multi-boxers are a disease on the WoW game and should be banned entirely.

You still get 2x the currency from doing the activities on two characters, you simply don’t get twice the reputation or twice the delver’s journal weekly gate. Up to you whether double kej/resonant shards/gold/blessed iron is worth it or not.
There aren’t many benefits to multiboxing. Most meaningful rewards, especially rep, are once per account. If you complete a campaign quest, you unlock the transmog for every reward that can come from that quest. Important currency rewards are limited. Some you could get extra from multiboxing but those are usually cosmetic currencies that are so abundant that it isn’t worth the effort.
Reps/Renown will only be as fast as the character furthest along, so yeah, it doesn’t help to run multiple for that purpose, and the unlocks (in DF and TWW content) will be account wide so you don’t need to keep up with it on multiple characters for any real reason.
I’m not sure what you mean by currencies.
Timewarped Badges are Warbound.
Honor is Warbound.
Conquest isn’t Warbound but basically is via the Warbound Lootbox thing.
But Crests and Valorstones for current content PvE upgrading purposes are not Warbound. You will need to earn those on each character to be able to use that feature.
Currencies older than DF will not be Warbound.
Transmog is much easier to unlock because we now can learn everything without having to be the appropriate class / armor type (some weirdness with old tier tokens, but you can warbank them and use them on the appropriate classes).
But it’s still beneficial to run the content on multiple characters because that’s just more chances at the same account wide unlocks per week.
But that’s not relevant to multiboxing because you’d want to run them in separate instances to get the full amount of legacy loot per character.
