So, playing my mage again after probably 4 years, playing RM. Don’t have modern experience from being a rogue main as I prefer RP.
As RM, vs say, warrior healer. back in the day I would trade poly DR’s. like, Sheep warrior, go paladin, after paladin uses/stuns expire, sheep paladin -> go warrior. -> rotate between poly dr’s like this.
is this still the strategy? or is just running like your life depends on it between stun DR’s on a single target more beneficial?
side note: i’m frost so combust isn’t part of my plan.
Do you have enough dmg after your go? then rotate the sheep and do deeps. If not and you know you can’t kill/force cd, then time to run and wait for DRs.
well, given that you’re about 2k, it’ll be a hot minute before you see one if i’m the only one lmao.
Rogue is doing most of the damage, I’m just stalling most games. Although if I get a proper stack of icicles my burst isn’t nothing during our goes. Comet / Nova / icicles or a flurry beam is pretty ok burst. like 10k 15k burst.
not great, but enough to push them into a kill with a rogue hitting them.
we lose a lot of matches with people recovering at 1%. it’s really stressful lol.
Yeah i definitely feel the lack of DB. Although I can usually secure sheeps with icy veins and a petnova just as they try to LoS, assuming they’ve exhausted their stops.
It’s legitimately so bad to play mage without db because rdruid is actually meta in 2s too, since you can’t db ring you just auto lose vs rdruid comps as frost.
Yeah I can’t imagine playing frost without a rogue honestly. Idk why anyone would want to do this without reliable consistent stuns. I have to cast sooooo much.
I played a little arcane/sub to 1900 (w/o crit leggo which is hard trolling) and usually we’d try to go outside of ignore pain on war or maybe hpal if he’s trolling on df kick or yolo swap.
We usually lose every war/hpal though so idk, but chronoshift-slow helps a ton and my partner plays execute leggo every so often to try out new stuff.
But ye when we played it in bfa to 2.2 we autolost to every warrior in season 4 unless they messed up something really bad.
I’d say your best bet is to try to break ignore pain bubble before goes or prekite after goes, but I didn’t have a lot of success with the other non fire r/m variant.
Also hardswap hpal on kicks and try to look for those moments too if you have the damage available. (or reroll fire)
yeah. so long as I have flurry i can kind of swap. But getting a proc is really like “oh things are going well for once.” since it requires casting frostbolt for no damage sometimes multiple times while some rabid dog venthyr spams execute charge at me.
