I rejoined WoW a couple months before the expansion after playing from the vanilla launch to the start of Wrath.
I’ve figured my favorite thing to do is the Mythic+ dungeons. I’ve been farming around 15-17’s on my Resto Druid. I recently did a Nokhud Offensive and at the start the tank was saying that the healer should be the one to handle all the explosives. So I have a couple questions…
#1 - Should the healer be the one to handle all the explosives? Seems like a little too much work for a healer to handle keeping up the group and watching for all the explosives at the same time.
#2 - Any good macros that could help with this? I found a couple online that didn’t work for me and I’m a little rusty when it comes to macros.

Most of them, yes. All of them is silly. Most people with a brain realize this simple little fact. But then there’s PUGs…
I dont play with macros. I always click on the orb’s nameplate and hit my frost shock keybind. If its near me I can tab target it. The timer on their explosions is pretty forgiving.
The 1 or 2 that come out at a time, it’s easier for a healer or ranged dps to take care of them.
However, there are some bigger pulls in these dungeons where you have 3+ orbs going out and it’s definitely the group’s job to get them down.
As a tank, I try to get any nearby me when I can, but I also have to make sure no one gets cleaved or run over. Ranged ones I toss a heroic throw at if no one else takes care of it.
My rule of thumb is in PUG groups it’s everyone’s job. In a group of guildies or friends, they can set it up to make the healer do it if they want.
So far I haven’t had any groups say “You’re the healer, you orb duty”
I guess it depends of the composition of your group.
For example, as an Arcane Mage, hopefully the group doesn’t expect me to change target in middle of my burst to target the explosions. I’m gonna take care of them during a conserve phase or something.
Same for you, the group shouldn’t expect the healer to take care of explosives during a damage-intensive moment. But there is clearly some moment were its best if the healer take care of it, overall-DPS wise.
Literally what I was told last night. Then the tank does a double pull and three orbs come up at the same time.
Any good macros/addons to make it easier? Tabbing to them makes it almost impossible to target on those large pulls where people are taking a lot of damage.
I always thought all the affixes were a group effort and never bought into the whole “it’s a healer affix,” “it’s a tank affix.” But that’s just me it seems. Though, it generally works out that way in the pug groups I’ve done anyway.
