I have never sold my gold in the game for Battle.net bucks (Bnet balance) and have a few questions; however, I’m not sure where to ask.
I want to transfer 6 characters from one realm to another using my in-game gold. On the Blizzard website it says you buy a token in game (using gold) and they will give $15.00 credit to B-net balance.
“You can purchase a WoW Token from the Shop for real money and sell it on the Auction House for gold, or you can purchase a Token from the Auction House and redeem it for 30-days of Game Time or $15 of Battle.net Balance.”
So, my questions are:
Can the Bnet balance be more than $15? So, if I were to sell 6 tokens in the game would the balance accumulate to $90.00 Bnet balance?
Could I then use part of the $90.00 balance to transfer my characters? Or, is that money earmarked for only subscription costs?
Is this a bad time do this because people are selling their gold to use the Bnet balance to buy the next expansion? I’m not in a hurry and could wait if it would be more cost effective at a different time.
I hadn’t thought of taxes - good point. On the store website it says $80.00 to move 6-characters, if I sold 6 tokens at todays price I would get $90.00 Bnet credit. I wonder if the transfer costs more than my Bnet balance would they let me pay the difference in cash (credit card)? Or, would I need to sell another token to make up the balance?
I am afraid not. Blizzard does not allow us to do split payments of different kinds.
What you could do, is use your credit card to add enough to your Bnet Balance to cover the difference. That way you had enough total Balance to cover the transfer cost. It would reduce your “real money” costs to a minimum.
Just beware that adding Bnet balance is not instant. It is usually pretty fast, but can take a while depending on method used. The article I linked has some sub links in it for you.
