I’m currently questioning blizzard for making RP-PVP servers. they aren’t enforcing the policies for them.
I’ve had very, very little RP engagements in the game since launch. Most people are “rushing” for end game, which is, dare I say it, immersion breaking, as well as the people running around griefing for rank 14. THIS IS A PROBLEM. Do not give me the whole, well it’s a pvp realm huck huck huck."
FIRST AND FOREMOST, it’s a ROLEPLAY server with PVP. I expect players to be roleplaying, but aren’t. They are treating it like a regular pvp server, which is NOT WHAT I SIGNED ON FOR. I will 100% be ok if blizzard changes it to be flagged as a pvp realm. BUt this is NOT OK when I joined that server for it being a ROLEPLAY SERVER when the community isn’t even caring about it at all!
Fix this blizzard. People asked for RP-PVP servers, not players to go into it just for the sake of pvp and to be “realm first”.

I know some players rolled on RP PvP servers not because they really wanted to RP. The main reason was they believed they were more likely to have balanced factions for wPvP.
So, I guess it’s not surprising that these players rushed to level 60 and are now trying to farm HKs (and disregard RP).
See that’s what I also do not get also.
Damn sounds like some people are dumb (not you OP)
I have to agree, it is getting increasingly worse. There were players literally yelling profanities in Org earlier today, the most ridiculously OOC names with sexual connotations, constant OOC in /say. Seeing the same people doing it day after day, despite often RCRs for it.
I fear that too many RPers are just tossing up their hands at this point and not even bothering to report them anymore.
ALL OF THAT SAID:
WPVP, despite how much some of it bothers you, has no bearing on it being a RPPVP realm.

I’m thinking of rolling on an RP pvp but the main reason is that they are tighter on player names.
Fighting someone nutcruncher5000 just loses its appeal.

Being killed once is vastly different then being corpsed farmed on a RP-PVP server, just for the sake of HK at the least.
Stop trying to make everyone role-play the way YOU want and you will be a lot happier and probably get a lot more role-play opportunities.

The problem is that you’re on Grobbulus, and Grobb is a urine-soaked hellhole.
Blizzard can’t possibly keep up with the amount of rules violations that occur in Grobb on a regular basis. 4chan is not a good place and the people who visit it are not good people.
The vast majority of people who are worth playing with saw the writing on the wall and left the server. I certainly did as soon as I was given the opportunity.
Um, what? I am not forcing anyone to roleplay my way. I want people to realize that they are on a ROLEPLAY SERVER. which means, YOU HAVE TO ROLEPLAY.
No, you don’t have to roleplay. Where did you even get that idea?

I wouldn’t role play with a person named “Oriendaria”.
Sounds like a filthy peasant name

No, you don’t have to roleplay the way you think you do. People can and do roleplay just by playing the game as it is, RP servers just give a different experience due to expectations like the naming policy and the tendency for people who choose to roleplay outside of the gameplay. So, the real question here is what are you doing to encourage roleplay? Are you only communicating in character, including global channels such as Trade? How many events have you started? Even your guild name, taken from a movie about vampires doesn’t scream “Hey I’m here to ROLEPLAY”.
It’s a PVP realm what did you expect?

I started on Grobb and had a similar experience. It’s a standard pvp server, so far as I can tell. I transferred to DD and names are better, but there still isn’t much RP. You can find it if you look though, and in general people seem pretty cool.
Bloodsail Buccaneers has a fair amount of in character interactions in /s and /y. I’ve run into and participated in various role play interactions in the “wild”. And a significant number of people seem to have emotes important to their character bound. I’ve been given booze for buffing someone at a boat.
A number of Alliance were running around flagged for pvp prior to the honor system going live. I’ve heard that SSvTM is a thing on our server but haven’t gone to check it out.
I reported all kinds of inappropriate names around launch. I don’t know that I’ve seen anything bad on someone over level 20.
